****AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE****
Hello crew and once again welcome back to your baliwaves.com for the latest news on surfing and weather conditions here in Bali today. And first off I need to apologise for my bad spelling on the last couple of Macaroni’s Surf Resort surf reports, they say to make a mistake is to be human…. So sorry about that guys.
Ok this mornings 6.30am surf check on the Outer reefs was showing a distinct increase in wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport left. And at the time I thought we’d be in for some very big waves by this afternoon, but. Actual wave height was ranging between 2-4ft or chest to head high plus. and there were waves on all three major sections at the time. I checked again around 1.30pm to find around 25 surfers riding Kuta Reef @ 2-3ft. Middle Reef must have had close to 30 surfers with head high plus set waves. While Airport left was also in the 2-3ft class and another 20-30 surfers on it.
Dreamland looked be in the 1-3ft class with around 30 surfers riding the left hander closer to shore and another 15+ riding the right hander.
Balangan was picking up 2-4 footers but with at least 50 surfers scattered from the point all the way to down in front of the Temple.
Bingin, I was a bit far away to do an actual head count but there looked to be a pretty solid pack sitting on the take off zone with wave height coming through in the 2-2f+ sector.
Padang Padang, was lit up like a Christmas tree in anticipation of the contest currently in waiting to commence and there was at least 10 surfers in the water with 2-2ft+ waves.
Uluwatu was picking up some more solid waves and the Main Peak would have been pushing the double head high range, around 30-40 surfers there as well. We should have some photographic evidence of Uluwatu later this evening from Hendra and his Photographic Team.
Surfing conditions here in bali today have been nothing less that perfect with the wind light out of the ESE @ 3-5knot to start off the day then slowly increasing into the 10-12knot class by midday.
Tidal info for today was saying we had a 0.7mtr Low @ 10.00am and then a very ordinary 1.5mtr High around 3.30pm
Sms surf report from the G-land Surf Camp was saying that wave height was coming through in a very clean 4-6ft out of the West and the top end of Money Tree’s was the call for the day. Zero surfers in the water at 9.00am.
Sms surf report from Lakey Peak on the island of Sumbawa was saying that wave height has jumped into the head to head high plus sector and just in time for the new arrivals starting to show up.
Weather wise in Bali today it’s just another hot and sunny day with the temperature peaking around the 29 degree Celsius mark.
Swell Forecast; Friday is looking good for the start of a very solid swell that should peak on saturday and hold through till early next week.
New Video Clip, The new footage I shot up at Keramas the other day is on-line for ya’s, so if there’s not much happening in the office this afternoon make sure you watch it.
