****MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
Good morning to all you surfers tuning into the baliwaves.com for today’s Bali surf and weather info fix. Todays 7.30am surf check on the Outer Reefs here in the laid back little suburb of Tuban was showing wave height to have dropped off a touch from yesterday afternoons pulse. But never the less there are still some nice waves peeling off between Kuta Reef and Airport Left in the chest to head high plus sector. Kuta Reef was the best looking wave on the Outers at the time with chest to head high waves wrapping along the reef with the 100 degree bend towards the end section. Middle Reef was still ok at the time with chest to head high plus waves. But will fatten up with the incoming tide. Airport Left also had plenty of waves breaking in the waist to head high range.
This morning I also had a phone through surf report from our good friends at Hendra Surf Photography down at Uluwatu. Apparantly Uluwatu is picking up swell in the head to double head high range and surfing conditions are perfect. The Main Peak was were the focus was with around 25 surfers in the line up and set waves in the double head high class. Temple’s was also showing potential but slightly smaller in the head to head high range and another 10 surfers riding them.
I also had an sms surf report from over at Lakey Peak on the island of Sumbawa to the east of Bali. According to our source wave height was a clean head to head high plus on Lakey Peak with around 20 surfers in the water at 7.00am. Crowd levels over at lakey’s have also backed off down into the 120 range from the previous last couple of months when there was between 180-200 surfers visiting the region.
Surfing conditions here on the Outer Reefs are clean and tidy with the ESE-SE Tradewind slowly increasing in strength. Currently blowing straigh off-shore between Kuta and Uluwatu @ 7-11knot.
Tidal info for today is calling in a 2.3mtr High @ 10.00am and then running out back out for a 0.3mtr Low around the 4.30 mark. We also have a Full Moon rising tonight.
Weather wise there was a few drops of rain through the early hours of the morning but now at 10.00am it’s back to blue sky and sunshine. Heading for a top temperature of around 30 degree’s along the beach.
Photo up-dates: For those of ya’s that don’t check the “recent up-dates” section down on the bottom left of the page you’ll find that yesterday I loaded up a Readers report from our friend “Doc” who is based up at Canggu. We also had a surf report and photos sent through to us from our friends at the Kandui Surf Resort up in the Mentawai Islands. With the photos featuring some perfect tube rides at “Rifles”.
G-land; Ok the 10% discount for the early bookings into the G-Land Surf Camp has finished but I’ve spoken with the boss and he’s still prepared to give anyone who mentions baliwaves.com a 5% discount on standard, twin share and fan bungalows and a 10% discount on their air conditioned bungalows. Just mention baliwaves.com at their office and you’ll get money back in your pocket.
And don’t forget to drop me a line if your looking for some surfer friendly accommodation here in Tuban / Bali (the quiter end of town). Right here at Home Base we have single rooms for US$15.00, US$18.00 for couple’s & US$25.00 for a twin share room. All rooms have Air conditioning, hot and cold water, tv, refridgerator and large private bathroom. 300mtrs back from the beach in fron of the Outer reefs here in Tuban.
Surf Board special offer; It just so happens a friend of mine here in Bali is holding 3 brand new boards, never ridden or even waxed and is offering them at a special price of AU$525.00. These aren’t back yard or pop out boards either made by one of the most reputable shapers in Australia. Sizes are 6’3″ & 6’6″ So if your after a high performance new board drop us an email and I’ll put you in touch.
Swell Prediction; Ok well here’s my interpretation of what we can expect swell wise over the next week. Late Tuesday afternoon we should see a small swell start to show boosting wave height back into the 3-5ft range. This will take us through to Wednesday afternoon before starting to fade on us. Then come Friday another similar sized system should give us some more waves through till Sunday. Further out in the Indian Ocean there is a solid swell moving our way and fingers crossed that should be here by next Tesday / Wednesday.
Okey Dokey crew thanks for your support and thats what makes baliwaves.com the No.1 Bali surf report since ’99.
