****MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
Good morning surfers and thanks for waiting around for todays news on surfing and weather conditions here on your favourite surfing holiday destination of Bali. Another big thank you to Hendra and his Photographic Team down at Uluwatu for today images.
Well we had a good run of waves since last Thursday and as we know all good things don’t last forever. This mornings surf check on the Outer Reefs here in the laid back little surfing / fishing suburb of Tuban was showing wave height to have all but dissapeared. Currently down into the 1-2ft+ sector between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. At 7.00AM there didn’t appear to be anyone in the water, but I’m sure that after the the High tide comes and go’s there’ll be a few smallies breaking on Middle Reef.
Surfing conditions this morning were and still are perfect with the ESE-SE Tradewind, gusting up to 8-10knot is providing the clean off-shore wind between Kuta and Uluwtau.
Looking for a wave this morning your best bet would be back down at Uluwatu for the best size and power.
Tidal info for today is saying that we will have a 2.0mtr High @ 9.00AM and then running out for a 0.5mtr Low around the 3.30PM mark. Tomorrow the 18th see’s the New Moon rising so we can expect to see some better tidal range’s over the following 3-4 days.
Weather wise there’s a little bit of thin and high up cloud around this morning but I’d reckon we are still going to be in for another hot one along the beach. Expecting a maximum temperature somewhere in the low thirties.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Kuta you’ll find that one of your Aussie dollars is going to get you Rp8,500 and if your cashing US dollars you’ll be ranging around the Rp9,850 to Rp9,950. No sure about the Euro and the Pound, but you would be getting a much higher rate again.
If it’s clean safe and friendly accommodation here in Tuban only 300mtrs back from the Outer Reefs, including A/C, hot water, refridgerator & TV for US$15.00 per night (single) or US$18.00 for a couple and US$25.00 twin share. Then drop me an email but usually we do need a few weeks notice.
G-Land we are offering you a 5% discount on all standard packages and 10% on air conditioned packages at the G-Land Surf Camp. And from all report’s I’ve heard of late, right now is an ideal time to get over there and score some un-crowded waves
We are also now sending out brief random surf reports and ravings through Twitter mobile phone service so sign up today !
There are new photos and reports sent into us from the Mentawi Islands and you can find them in the “reports” section of the site. I’m finally dumping another batch of bodyboarding photos onto their report page taken at Padang Padang and Uluwatu, as you read this !
Thanks again for dropping in, have a good one and I’ll see ya later.
