****SURF UP DATE****
Hello surfers and thanks for dropping by the baliwaves.com to see what’s been going down surf and weather wise here on your first choice tropical surfing holiday destination of BALI.
Well yesterday morning our new swell was just starting to kick in with some solid 3-5ft+ waves hitting the Outer Reefs of Tuban by 6.30AM. By the time I reached my crew who were staying at Seminyak at 8.00AM the beach breaks in that area were already maxing out. From there we cut across the island to see what was happening at Serangan on the East Coast. Actually the last couple of photos in this current gallery were snapped off over there. In between The close out sets there were some absolutely perfect right handers peeling off in the 6-8ft class with no surfers on it. There were a few riders over riding the left hand pipe.
From there we though we might sneak in a few sly waves further down the coast at the more protected right hand reef of Sri Lanka. The boys did get in a paddle here with a more sedated over head to double head high plus. Surfing conditions at this time 9.00AM were still clean enough but with the wind just starting to puff up out of the SSE.
The opening sequence in these photos I shot down at Bali’s premier surfing location of Uluwatu. I’m not making a call on the size of those waves, I’m just calling bloody big, with only a hand full of surfers taking it on. Driving home past Padang Padang at 2.00PM we were going to stop and take a peak but it absolutely no spare parking space which to me indicated there had to be some good ones coming through but with an intense crowd. I also bumped into “Betet” Mertha last night and he said it was a circus out there at Padang Padang with over 100 surfers in the line up.
A couple of my team also made the run over to Lombok to see what Desert Pt was doing, they phoned through to say crazy big waves in the 8-10ft+ region so they ended up surfing perfect 4ft waves at Sengigi.
Davey from over at G-Land phoned through to also tell of monstrous waves breaking out on the Bombie with no surfers wanting any part of it.
This mornings 6.30AM surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing wave height to have backed off a little, but with the tide still a long way left to run in I’m sure there’s still going to be some solid waves breaking around Bali. I’ll be back later this afternoon with the full round up on today’s conditions.

Fantastic shots Slim. Could do with more of Ulu if you have them. Pity about Padang 2
Padang Padang has changed. In the days when I surfed there there was never a crowd. My last session (so long ago now) was 2 1/2 head high with only 6 in the water. Now you can’t even get a look!!!!
