****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
Hi crew and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves (Bali’s best since 1999) again this afternoon to see what’s been happening here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination of BALI.
This morning with even smaller swell predicted for today we were up long before the birds and on our way up Bali’s notorious West coast highway to Balian. Getting our first glimpse of the ocean around 6.30AM and happy enough to see wave height at Balian (Bali’s biggest swell magnet location) in the waist to head high range. Clean and glassy surfing conditions and staying that way through until around 11.00AM. But we were not the only ones with this plan and I’d have to say one of the biggest crowds I have seen up there, with the peak hitting 65 surfers. Quite a lot of new Euro surfers in the water and the funny thing, or the worst thing I should say is that even though these people could manage to get to their feet on a wave they still had to be pushed onto every wave they caught, kooks or what, showing no self shame at all. Anyway there were still plenty of waves for those that could catch their own.
I’m pretty beat up from that gruesome drive and the ever maniac bus and truck drivers that frequent the main Bali – Java – Bali route so I’m going to keep it short and tidy for ya’s. Plus it’s my old mate Lewis birthday today and we are planning a quite little sip for him down on the beach.
Today’s G-Land Surf Report thanks to our friends at the G-Land Surf Camp (www.g-landsurfcamp.com) was calling in waist to head high waves showing on the bottom end of Kongs to the top end of Money Tree’s. Clean and glassy surfing conditions at 7.45am with NO SURFERS IN THE WATER !
Contact us here at baliwaves.com if you want to get over there with a fat 15% discount to help you out.
But before I do split, I have also loaded an intro for the latest edition of Bali’s “LINES MAGAZINE” into our readers report page so make sure ya check it out. there’s also a direct link to the on line version for the whole smoking hot edition.
Plus the OAKLEY WORLD PRO JUNIOR (fingers crossed) will be running tomorrow at Keramas so if your in town get up there and check out the hottest up and coming next gen of professional surfers. Ketut will be up on location shooting some of the action (who know’s where Slim will be shooting at..) so stay stoked right here on the original BALI SURF REPORT / BALIWAVES.COM
You’ll also find baliwaves on Facebook, twitter & instagram so get on it !
Weather wise here in Bali today we got off to a cloudy start by by midday the sun was powering up and currently right now at 4.30PM the outside temperature is sitting on 29 degree’s Celsius, humidity level is on 62%. Wind direction is out of the….. South @ 10knot.

Taco Lovers !
Hey Slim, we are at La Libre, 820 jalan raya Semer, right in front of Bali Buddha on the way to Canggu. Just say to mention the Baliwaves special and they get 3 tacos instead of 2 per plate and it’s already a surfer worthy portion. Thanks for the help and keep up the great work on your website. Cheers Jim
