Howdy folks and welcome back to your baliwaves.com (The first surfing website in Indonesia, since 1999) for the latest news and best views on surfing and weather conditions from right here on the only place for your next tropical surfing holiday, BALI.
Our first surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban went down at 7.00AM to find wave height backed off a little more. But still there was a little wave in the waist to head high sector between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Middle Reef was picking up the bigger waves and the best option out of the main 3 breaks. Surfing conditions were clean and glassy at the time, wind direction coming lightly out of the WNW.
But as it shows in our current photo gallery my crew thought we’d sneak a wave in up at Canggu. Taking our time to give the tide a little bit more time to fill in, arriving at 9.20AM. As you can see wave height was hitting the sand bar and river mouth sections in the 2-3ft class with the odd bigger freak set every now and again. Surfing conditions were clean and glassy with a light on shore wind. It was somewhere near 11.00AM the SE Trade wind started to kick in.
I’m no expert, well I guess I have been not much more than a beach bum all my life and I have seen what happens when non surfers start messing with (developing the beach front) the beach. And to me Canggu looks like it’s in trouble with the developers moving in “catch 22”.
Weather wise it was a very hot one on the black sand beach of Canggu with the temperature easily busting into the low 30’s on the Celsius scale by midday.
Our G-Land Surf Report came through at 8.00AM calling wave height to be still holding in the head to head high plus region from the Ledge through to Money Tree’s, with a little more size and consistency at Kong’s. Clean surfing conditions with a light off shore wind and only 3 surfers in the water at the time.
So if anyone is interested in going over to the legendary left hand wave, G-LAND of East Java contact me and baliwaves.com will hook ya’s up with a solid 10% discount.
