**** AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE **** Howdy folks, I thought I just better give ya’s the news that around lunch time today the wind backed right off and then swung to the WNW at 4-7knot. But no change in the wave situation, now that I can easily see the difference between wind chop and wave, the Outer Reefs were only just showing the odd half footer breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Right now at 5.30pm the sky is still cloudy but looking a lot thinner, hopefully tomorrow we will have a return to warmer weather. Ok check us out in the morning if your interested in knowing whats going on here on the holiday island. Best Regards from Your Bali.
*** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Good morning surfers and thanks for dropping by the baliwaves again today. Well there’s really no change from yesterdays conditions in regards to our current weather. Once again I had to wait for the rain to settle down this morning before I could bolt down for a look at the Outer Reefs here in Tuban. Just like yesterday, surfing conditions along the West Coast of Bali are totally trashed. The waves that were breaking in between Kuta Reef and Airport Left were being generated from the 15-20knot W-WSW wind. One of the surfers staying here at home base Tuban, Mr Sam. S, went over to Serangan yesterday afternoon, outta desperation I must add. His feedback was that the waves were few and far between,cross/off-shore wind and waist to shoulder high at best. He also said he’s not going to bother going back there again today. Right now at 9.15am the sky is still pretty grey, gloomy and raining, likewise the wind is still howling outta the W-WSW. Outside the temperature would be around 23-4 degree’s Celcius, pretty much the same as the water temp. Sorry crew but these kinda conditions just don’t mix in with camera equipment. But don’t swear or fret, as soon as conditions permit I’ll be out there shooting, it’s what I’m into.
Hopefully weather patterns should start to stabilize once this current system dominating us blows itself out. Then we can expect the Tradewind start to appear and happy days once more. So make sure you got your travel documents in order for this years Indo surfing assult. Feel free to drop us an email if ya have any queries or concerns on how to improve your wave count etc etc etc.
One more very important thing before I go dept: A little while back I mentioned something about baliwaves.com wanting to help out with a charity organisation carring for Balinese Orphans, by finding kind hearted folks to sponsor kids for their basic schooling needs. Well just for now if anyone would like a bit more information please send an email to: [email protected]
Purnie will be able to pass on all the info. I think it costs around AU$70.00 per year to provide a poor little kid with a school uniform, school fee’s and books plus pocket money.
Best Regards from Your Bali
