**** AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE **** Welcome back friends of Bali, time for a quick up-date on surf and weather. Ok late this afternoon at 6.00pm the Outer Reefs were producing waves with a bit more size and gusto than previously this morning. There were around half a dozen surfers riding waves up to head high on Kuta Reef, nothing super consistent but all the same perfectly shaped. While over on Middle Reef there were another 10 riders catching sets waves pushing the head high plus level. Like I said this morning we have had a top day weather wise with nothing but blue sky and sunshine with the mercury pushing into the low 30’s Celcius. Wind direction is still coming outta the ESE @ 4-8knot and off-shore along Bali’s West Coast. Once again the weather prediction websites are calling for another increase in wave height through out tomorrow so I’m gunna be sneaking out for a dawn patrol in the morning at the local, then heading South to Uluwatu to shoot ya’s some more images with the 1000mm lens. So make sure ya stay tuned here at baliwaves over the weekend because we’ll be keeping ya’s in the loop with whats really going down here on your favourite surfing holiday destination of Bali. I’ve also got some more bodyboarding photos to load up and they should be there for those that care shortly. Have a good one and catch ya’s tomorrow.
**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** G’day crew, welcome to the baliwaves. Well I hope you guys are thinking a bit clearer than me this morning… big night. These current photos ya been looking at were shot down at Uluwatu yesterday the 20th. The first three photos are of a Medewi local ripper named Herman who was down visiting Ulu on the day. There were some good sized set waves pushing the 5ft mark on the Main Peak, or double overhead on the orginal wave size scale. Wind direction was a bit cross-shorish coming outta the SSE @ 4-8knot. The swell appears to be only hitting locations facing directly into the South, so while Ulu was pushing double over head most other locations were still only pretty small and lacking any real power. This morning the 21st and at 7.30am the Outer Reefs of Tuban were attracting a smidgen more swell than yesterday. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left was ranging from 1-3ft and the wind was light and variable. Right now at 9.3am the wind has started to increase from the ESE and is blowing off-shore here along Bali’s West Coast @ 2-4knot. Upstairs the sky is mainly blue so it looks like we are in for some more perfect holiday weather. The temperature is already on 26 degree’s Celcius and should easily make the low 30’s by midday. Water temperature is excellent for boardies and bikini’s @ 23 Celcius. It’s funny ya know, I read on a European based website yesterday that claims to have surf forecasts for Kuta Reef etc etc that the water temp for Bali at this time of the year was on 29 degree’s Celcius.. and wave height on Kuta Reef today was 1.6 mtrs… all wrong. Just like, I can’t forecast surfing conditions on Europe from Indonesia, these guys can’t call conditions on Indo from in Europe. Anyway, I’ll keep an eye on the weather and waves for ya’s and if anything exciting happens I’ll get back to ya’s with the Gos later this evening. Have a top day and get ready for a big weekend on baliwaves.

A little while back I mentioned something about baliwaves.com wanting to help out with a charity organisation carring for Balinese Orphans, by finding kind hearted folks to sponsor kids for their basic schooling needs. Well just for now if anyone would like a bit more information please send an email to: [email protected]
Purnie will be able to pass on all the info. I think it costs around AU$70.00 per year to provide a poor little kid with a school uniform, school fee’s and books plus pocket money.
Feel free to send us an email if ya have any questions that might help your next Indo surfing holiday run that bit smoother. Discounts into the G-Land camp of your choice. How to get over to Lakey Peak and still have money to spread around. Likewise if your looking for a cheap, clean and 100% surfer friendly place to home base at here in Bali.
Best Regards from Your Bali.
