**** AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE **** Helllo friends of Bali, well the wind kept blowing outta the West most of the day and no real change in wave height, until just before dark anyway. My sunset surf check was showing a definite increase in wave height and frequency happening on the Outer Reefs, namely Kuta Reef right across to Airport left. The wind had actually increased a notch and was more like a steady 11-12knot and wave height moving into the 2-4ft class. The weather (apart from the wind that is) has been great with pretty well blue sky for the duration. And I also know you lot would be getting pretty damn sick of hearing about Serangan this, and Serangan that, plus it’s not a very exciting place when the surf is smallish. So I thought ya’s might like to see some real baliwaves, the Padang Padang type, from last season. I dunno about you, but I find em very refreshing. Anyway I hope these keep ya sedated for the time being, until we can get into some better waves here in Bali. I’ll be back in the morning with the latest on Bali’s surf and weather conditons so talk to ya’s then. Best Regards from your surfer friendly Bali.
**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Good morning crew and thanks for tuning in to Bali. Well still no good news for ya’s, my 6.3am surf check of the Outer reefs of Tuban was not very exciting. But, wave height has increased sligtly here along the Bali’s West coast, with the swell making a slight directional detour and coming more outta the W-SW. There are 1-3ft waves beaking in between Kuta Reef and Airport left, but, the wind was coming outta the WNW at 8-11knot and on-shore. Yesterday the crew staying here at Home Base Bali cruised over to Serangan for a surf, but there wasn’t a lotta praise for the 1-3ft+ cross-shore conditions. Not too mention the horde. Right now at 9.00am the sky is clear and all blue, the wind has shifted more to the straight West and will more than likely turn further to the WSW by midday. The waiting game continues, and I tell ya’s it’s getting hard for me with 4 brand new custom made DIVERSE surfboards raring to go. Maybe tomorrow, maybe next week, but what ya can be sure of is that it’ll soon be cranking again here on the West Coast of Bali. Take it easy out there where eva ya are, don’t stray too far if ya want to stay in tune with Indo. To the crew who have never been to Bali and are concerned with all the recent travel warnings, dept: The Indonesian’s have increased security in all areas of western interest, especially here in Bali. Hopefully we’ll see you all here on the surfing holiday island of Bali in 2006. Remember, terrorists and cartoonists don’t surf.

A little while back I mentioned something about baliwaves.com wanting to help out with a charity organisation carring for Balinese Orphans, by finding kind hearted folks to sponsor kids for their basic schooling needs. Well just for now if anyone would like a bit more information please send an email to: [email protected]
Purnie will be able to pass on all the info. I think it costs around AU$70.00 per year to provide a poor little kid with a school uniform, school fee’s and books plus pocket money.
Feel free to send us an email if ya have any questions that might help your next Indo surfing holiday run that bit smoother. Likewise if your looking for a cheap, clean and 100% surfer friendly place to home base at here in Bali.
Best Regards from Your Bali.
