**** AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE **** Howdy crew and welcome back to the baliwaves.Ok I’ve just got back from my journey South to Uluwatu and I’m sorry to say I didn’t even get to open my camera box. Oh there were some waves breaking upta head high for sure but the big High Tide killed off most of the power in the small waves making it a bit to fat and full on Ulu’s Main Peak. But talking to some friends down there they assured me that wave height has indeed increased from the past couple of days. There was somewhere around 40 surfers spread out from Temple’s to the Main Peak. I’d say as the tide drops away through the afternoon Uluwatu might be looking a bit better than on the High Tide. The wind has increased to around 10-12 knots outta the ESE-SE, known as the Tradewind. Coming home past Impossible’s there was even 4 surfers sitting around half way down the reef catching some 1-2 footers. Looking back around the cliff at Padang Padang there wasn’t even a ripple breaking there. Alright then crew, I did try for ya’s but I’m sure ya aren’t interested in seeing photos of small waves that aren’t barreling. So we’ll try again tomorrow ! Check ya’s then ok.
**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Good morning to everyone tuning into the baliwaves this back to work type Monday. It’s been a bit of a test of patience over the weekend but my 6.30am surf recon of the Outer Reefs this morning was showing a slight increase in wave size between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. There were even a couple of lone surfers sitting on Middle Reef catching waves in the waist to chest high range. Kuta Reef and Airport Left were still a bit small at 1ft+ while the tide was still in the low zone. The next tide will be a High of
2.6 mtrs happening between 11.00am-12.00pm then followed by a Low tide of 0.1 mtrs @ 6.00pm. Wind direction was light and off-shore outta the ESE @ 2-3 knot but will more than likely increase to Tradewind strength by midday. Another beautiful day weather wise for the holiday crew here in Bali, lottsa blue sky up top and the land temp should push into the low 30’s on the Celcius scale. The water temp has dipped down to 20 degree’s Celcius but still perfect for boardies and bikini’s. This morning I’ve gotta help 6 surfers get some cheap airfares and hotel prices for lakey Peak then hopefully I’ll be making the run down South to Uluwatu in time for the High tide on the Main Peak. I’d imagine Uluwatu would be in the over head class as the tide pushes in and probably the best place to get in some waves today. Make sure ya call by the baliwaves later this afternoon and I should have the full run down on Bali’s surf and weather plus the inside info on whats happening at Lakey Peak and G-Land. So until ron it’s Best Regards from Your No.1 Surfing Holiday destination of Bali, off-shore wind all day everyday.
A little while back I mentioned something about baliwaves.com wanting to help out with a charity organisation carring for Balinese Orphans , by finding kind hearted folks to sponsor kids for their basic schooling needs. Well just for now if anyone would like a bit more information please send an email to: [email protected]
Purnie will be able to pass on all the info. I think it costs around AU$70.00 per year to provide a poor little kid with a school uniform, school fee’s and books plus pocket money.
Feel free to send us an email if ya have any questions that might help your next Indo surfing holiday run that bit smoother. Discounts into the G-Land camp of your choice. How to get over to Lakey Peak and still have money to spread around. Likewise if your looking for a cheap, clean and 100% surfer friendly place to home base at here in Bali.
