**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** G’day surfers, welcome back to the baliwaves this Monday morning here in surf central Bali. Well I rekon we were on the ball yesterday doing the Uluwatu run, I don’t think there woulda been too much happening anywhere else ! The Low tide had wave height in the 1-3ft range along the Racetrack with the very occassional 4 footer hitting the Main Peak. Wind direction was coming outta the SSE @ 3-8knot and blowing cross-shore. There was only 6 surfers in the water at 10.00am (musta been a good night in town) and by the time I rode outta there at 1.30pm there woulda been lucky to have been 30 surfers spread out from the Main peak down through the Racetrack, a good 300yrd area. That reminds me, I was brousing the net yesterday and spotted on a Sydney surfing website a forum with a topic on Bali, and get this, from a Sydney surfer(?) claiming that Uluwatu is way too crowded and not worth the effort…. hehehehe. Maybe he read it somewhere else and believed it. I tell ya, if you placed Uluwatu (even on an average day) anywhere near Sydney there’d be a squillion surfers out there. Ok this morning I didn’t even bother going down for a look at the ocean until I was well rested cause I knew there’d be bugger all happening. As it was the the Outer Reefs were showing 1-1ft+ sized waves between Kuta Reef and Airports, and that was while the tide was almost at the bottom of a 0.7mtr Low. Maybe later this afternoon as the tide runs back in the beach breaks will still have some fun little waist high waves. I don’t think there’s gunna be too much happening elsewhere today. The wind is clean off-shore coming outta the ESE-SE @ 2-5knot. We got a beautiful day outside full of blue sky and sunshine, mid 30’s Celcius outta the shade. The water is clear and excellent in for a dip @ 21 degree’s Celcius. An that’s where I plan on spening most of today. We could be lucky and pick up a bit of a pulse in wave height sometime in the next 60hrs, an I’ll be watching out for it so stay tuned and I’ll keep ya’s in the loop. Mean while I’ve got another 30 photos to load up and finish off the October Surfing Gallery, I think that’ll make something like 200 HQ images in this months surfing gallery alone. Alright then make the most of what eva ya got on today and start organising your friends and planning your next Indonesian tube fest !
Hey, good news . We’re almost there with Orphan Scholarship / Sponsorship Program !!! It looks I’ve found an organisation that offers a couple of different types of sponsorships. One way is to sponsor a child just for schooling needs and essientials, and the other way is to sponsor a family to “adopt a child” so the kid gets to live in a family scene and gets to go to school.
