**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Good morning friends and thanks for dropping by, but sorry, absolutely no change in surfing conditions this morning. I went down and checked the Outer Reefs of Tuban around 6.45am and wave height was stll just breakng in the 1-1ft+ micro class. One thing that did occur late yesterday afternoon just before sunset was that the wind direction shifted to the SE and back to off-shore here along the West Coast. Not this morning though, ealier the wind was coming outta the NNW @ 2knot and light on-shore. Maybe the early shift at Canggu might be worth a look to possibly find some clean 2 footers (knee to nipple high), maybe. Down Uluwatu way you’d probably find the biggest waves, but then you’d still only be looking at 2ft+. I’ll see what the wind does around mid morning and if it’s still only light I’ll drag my butt down there on the motor bike and take some photos. But come on lets be real, and trust me, it’s pretty small out there today. We’ve also got the Full Moon rising today, what, full moon and the surf is tiny I hear ya say ? Well in my opinion the Full Moon doesn’t automatically denote good waves. What it does though, is it gives the reefs an oportunity to explore the full extremities of the tidal range. Also yesterday I had a visit from one of my good Balinese mates who works over at the Aman Gati Hotel at Lakey Peak / Sumbawa. He told me there’s been hardly any international guests in the area, with the majority coming indirectly from the advice received on how to get there from us at baliwaves.com ! So if anyone wants the Lakey Peak experience drop us a line and we’ll tell ya’s how to do it properly. Rule No.1 for Lakey Peak is you must have the High Tide happening through the early morning. Made has agreed to start sending baliwaves.com a daily sms on surfing conditions (and yes my mate Made is a surfer !) Also starting early next year we’ll have a daily surf report coming in from the Mentawai Islands. So who ya gunna call for Indo surf up-dates in 2007. Weather wise today we got got clear blue sky with warm to hot temperature’s outta the shade, surf or no surf it’s gunna be a good day for the beach in Bali. If ya get some time later on drop back by cause I’ll at least have a couple more video clips loaded for ya’s by lunch time. If anyone out there has a good product that’s made for travelling surfers you should drop me an email and we’ll help ya target your market. This year we had a heap of drama’s with the running of baliwaves.com and we were still managing to attract upto 70,000 unique viewers per month and up ta 20,000 page views per day. I think we’ve got a good product ! So drop us a line. Now’s a good time to start organising your friends for your next indonesian surfing adventure in ’07.
MORE GOOD NEWS : I know it’s taken awhile for me to get this organised but that’s how it is, when it’s a one man show. Anyway for starters anyone who is prepared to help out with the Balinese Orphan Scholarship / Sponsorship Program .
