**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** G’day crew and thanks again for tuning into the No.1 website regarding surf and weather information on Bali. First up, apologies for the “no show” yesterday, I can explain. You see the little 6′ x 8′ room I’ve been using as an “office” (to use the term loosly) and storage area is no longer available to me… so combine moving my stuff outta there and moving my other stuff outta my 8′ x 10′ room I used to live in (evicted) it’s been pretty hectic, to say the very very lest. Anyway I’ve been a survivor all my life and it’s only another one of life’s little tests that we all come across at some stage. Ok, lets get down to some surf related stuff (yeah I hear ya’s) This morning when I was doing the surf recon of the Outer Reefs @ 6.00am I was pretty pleased to see a more respectible sized swell wrapping in. At first wave height was looking to be in the 2-3ft range in between Kuta Reef and Airports, but as I watched there were soon 4 footers hitting Middle reef and peeeeling off. That’s where one of my guests is surfing right now (Mark White) and he’s got it all to himself. The tide was too Low for Kuta Reef and Airports but when she does roll in around lunch time both those sections of the Outers should be at least producing 2-3ft+ waves. Bugger all wind about just yet so surfing conditions are clean, smooth and glassy. But what there is, is variable from the North right around 180 degrees to the South. I’ve got some wheels lined (borrowed) and as soon as I can get done here with this stuff I’m going down to Uluwatu. Wave height down on the southern end of Bali would have to be pushing 3-5ft I reckon, and that’s where the actions gunna be as far as I’m concerned ! Weather wise, I wouldn’t want to have been in the Poppies / Kuta part of town this morning as she’d be under water from the torrential rain that fell for 3 hours straight through the early hours of the morning. Now @ 8.30am everythings shaping up nicely for another hot and sunny beach day. I’m going down to Uluwatu armed for bear, taking both DV cam and the 14mega pixal SLR. So ya had better tune in later OK. If anyone out there has a good product that’s made for travelling surfers you should drop me an email and we’ll help ya target your market.
