**** LUNCH-TIME SURF UP-DATE **** Howdy folks, well I’ve just got back from Uluwatu so I better give ya’s the run down on how it was I suppose. These current images are just lowly frame grabs from the video footage I was shooting so they’ll have to do until I get the video clips loaded up hey. My first surf check was of the Outer Reefs here in Tuban around 6.20am to find clean off-shore wind outta the East @ 1-3knot and 1-3ft of swell breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left . Middle Reef was the only surfable reef with plenty of coral exposed from the 8.00am Low tide. I was then down at Uluwatu by 8.00am, which wasn’t a bad effort considering the amount of 9 to fivers on the road. Surfing conditions were clean and smooth with just the slightest tinge of off-shore wind. Wave height was still only in the 2-3ft range on the Main Peak and Racetrack sections but no surfers had arrived as yet. While up at Temple’s it was more like 3-4ft+. Around 8.30am the first crew paddled out and it wasn’t long before the number had grown to 25 surfers riding the Peak and another 5-6 riders getting by far the best waves on offer today, further down on Temple’s. The tide filled in pretty quickly once it turned, so by then the Main Peak was at it’s best around lunch time. On the way back to Tuban there was nothing breaking on the Impossible’s or Padang Padang stretch of reef, not liking the big tide. I’d have to also say the many beach breaks from Kuta through to Legian woulda been going off around lunch time as well. Weather wise it hasn’t been the sunniest day we’ve had with a lot of cloud hanging over Bali’s bukit area and I was dodging the rain all the way home from Ulu. All in all though there’s been plenty of good waves rode here in Bali today. I’ll try and get this video on line for ya’s by later this evening so ya can see for yourselves. Cheers !
