**** AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE **** Hi again crew well I ended up down at Uluwatu just after the Low tide was passing around 8.45am. Only something like 6 surfers were in the water at that time, riding the Racetrack section @ 2-3ft+ The wind was on just dectible coming outta the WSW through until 11.00am when it swung more strongly to the SSE-ESE and off-shore again. As the tide started to fill in the Main Peak started to produce a few short but sweet little barrels. But the crowd didn’t stay dormant for long and soon grew to around 45+ surfers on the Peak. Further down at Temple’s there were half a dozen more surfers catching some longish 2-3 footers with the occassional bigger freaky. There wasn’t much happening along the Impossible’s to Padag Padang stretch of reef when I was passing through, 1-2 footers on Impossible’s was about it. But I reckon there might have been a few at Balangan at some stage of the morning ?. Made did file his sms surf report from lakey Peak over on the island of Sumbawa and sounded sad that wave height was only in the 1-2ft range on Lakey Peak this morning for the 4 surfers in the water @ 9.00am. Small swell but perfect weather conditions, blue sky and no wind, just ocean glass. Weather wise it was pretty warm down at Uluwatu, woulda had to have been 30 something Celcius for sure. Ok just check out these fram grabs I cut from the DV footage I was shooting today and I’ll try and have the NEW VIDEO CLIPS on-line for ya’s by this evening. Hopefully tomorrow there’ll be a few waves for the earlybirds !!! See ya on Sunday with more Bali surf and weather up-dates.
**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Howdy folks and welcome back to your Bali surf and weather report station. Like I said in yesterdays report surfing conditons were pretty small and the wind on-shore outta the West. But this morning @ 6.30am when I was down doing the surf recon we have a slight improvement on all fronts. Firstly the swell has boosted up into the 1-3ft range on the Outer Reefs of Tuban. The tide was still running down for a 0.5mtr Low set for 8.00am and then filling back in for a 2.3mtr High happening around 2.00pm. Kuta Reef and Airport Left were still a touch small @ 1-2ft but Middle Reef did have a few ridable waves coming through upto head high or 3ft. The wind was coming cleanly outta the East and straight off-shore for us here along the West (best) Coast. So I’m thinking it might be a worth a trip down to Uluwatu as soon as I get this report up and running. Weather wise it’s the opposite of what we had yesterday with nothing but clear blue sky to start us off and the temperature should easily punch into the 30 degree class on the Celcius scale. It’s still a bit early for Made’s Lakey Peak sms surf report but I should have all that info by this afternoon. I suppose I can let ya’s now that we are also gunna be giving you guys daily surf reports from the Mentawai’s starting sometime next week !
