**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** G’Day crew and thanks for calling in for another Sunday session on the baliwaves.com ! Well this morning @ 7.00am it was nice to see some solid swell hittling the Outer Reefs here in Tuban , and it wouldn’t be much different at every other location around Bali for that matter. Wave height has indeed busted into the 4-6ft range in between Kuta Reef and Airport Left , that’s double head high plus on the surfer scale. Bit of a contrast to what those swell prediction charts are saying (5 foot face), yep it just goes to show ya can’t go past that old fashioned eye ball “surf check”. The tide was just coming back up off the bottom of a low range 0.1mtr Low water line (6.00am) on the way upto a 2.1mtr High set for lunch time. Wind direction was coming outta the WNW @ 2-5knot so surfing conditions were on-shore but still very surfable here along the West Coast of Bali. Kuta Reef was peeling off nicely even though the tide was too low, but give it a couple of hours and it’ll be real fun in the 3-4ft range, that’s where you’ll find Slim ! Middle Reef was almost maxing out in the solid 5-6ft+ range and looking more suited to the extreme adrenalin crew. Airport Left will also have some surfable stuff happening as the tide fills in the reef towards the higher end of the tide @ 2-4ft. There’d probably be a few sly right handers around the other side of the airport runway as well if the wind behaive’s. Over on the East Coast surfing conditions would be clean an off-shore with this wind direction but you’d also find it pretty populated. Take ya pick of locations from Nusa Dua all the way up to Keramas at Gianyar. Made has filed his Lakey Peak sms surf report from the island of Sumbawa and says; wave height has dropped back in to the 1-2ft+ range on Lakey Peak this morning. No wind so surfing conditions were clean and glassy @ 7.00am and there were 6 surfers riding the “Peak”. The total number of International surfers in the area remains at 34. I’d say the boys will also be seeing some better size in the waves at Lakeys by late this afternoon ! Outside weather conditions are clear and clean, with tonne’s of blue sky showing, we’re gunna be in for another warm to hot day around the beach with the mercury expected to go into the early 30’s on the Celcius scale while the water temp is simple perfect for swimming or surfing @ 24 degree’s Celcius. I’ve shot a few photos of the scene around the beach infront of the Outers this morning with our new little 6mega pix Nikon and I’ll get them loaded up for ya’s as soon as I type this stuff up ok.
