Super Bank / Australia14th July 07
Dozens of photographers , 100’s of surfers and even a helicopter hovering overhead which must have had a photographer on board looking for a different angle .
Expect to see a lot of shots from Friday the 13th in the mags in the next few months!!
Well the swell from the last few days has started to drop but there’s still a few good ones out at Snapper the south west wind is creating a bit of cross chop, but when they’re big enough to barrel the faces are still clean.
We didn’t get a report for yesterday due to technical problems but it was cracking just thought I’d let you know….
There’s still 100 or more surfers out battling for the sets.
With a lot of grommets and longboarders .
The shots I have for today are from Snapper. Where there are a still a few head high sets coming through. Further down the point towards Greenmount it’s a lot smaller ok if you’re on a longboard, but a struggle for a shortboard
It’s still bigger down on the Tweed Coast and the North end of the Gold Coast.
The winds are predicted to come up to 20 knots.
The beachies up and down the coast are where the waves will be today.
South Straddie must be pumping as well as conditions are perfect for over there.
The Billabong Winter Classic is on at Duranbah this weekend and there are plenty of hot surfers competing for the $5000 prize money.
It looks like the Super bank will be going into hibernation again tomorrow except for the first section at Snapper, which could be maybe 2-3 feet.
So I’ll get a few shots from there and then I might get around to Duranbah and get a few action shots for any of you who are interested tomorrow.
I’ve just been checking the internet for swell forecasts and the its not looking real good for this part of the world for the next few days .
So I’ll see what I can come up with to keep you Baliwaves patrons amused.
Dan
