Super Bank / Australia15th July 07
The SE swell 2 – 4ft, continues to drop off this morning although there are the odd bigger sets every now and again. The swell is trying hard to hang around and it’s still bigger down on the Tweed Coast and North end of the Gold coast. The winds are light Westerly and the Super bank is super glassy. The wind is predicted to get up to 15kts from the SSW later and that will put a little bump on the face.
But at this size and swell direction there should be small waves all day out here.
There’s at least 100 guys in the water half of them at Snapper and then the other half spread out further down the point …mostly learners and longboard riders.
It seems there’s no such thing as uncrowded surf at the Super bank.
High tide today is 9am and low about 2.30pm.
In today’s pics, I’ve included a few shots of “super grom” 11 year old Mitch Parkinson and his dad Darryl. The father and son team were out there dominating the tiny waves all morning, getting all the good ones that come through.
Poor old Tom, Darryl’s eldest boy is home sick in bed. Which is probably a good thing for anyone else trying to get a wave out Snapper today.
Darryl is an ex Aussie junior champ and Mitch a future champ???
If you think the surname sounds familiar …you’re right. Mitch’s cousin is none other than world title contender Joel Parkinson.
Mitch and Darryl are heading over to Bali in the next few weeks for Occy’s Grom comp. So if you see the boys say hello but don’t expect them to give you any waves Ha Ha!!
Every time I say the surfs gonna be no good tomorrow. It seems when I get up its still alright and the swell is still with us …So my prediction for tody is “there will be no waves tomorrow” …STAY AT HOME!!. Maybe I can get a wave!!
Hey Slim, can I mention “Dee and Pauls Rainbow Bay cafe” in the report its downstairs
and where all the local groms hang out. There really cool people and look
after all the kids around here and have been doing it for years.
also would like to mention my mate Dave Davidsons surf coaching school at
Rainbow bay who I sometimes do a bit of work with..
Dan
