**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** G’Day crew and thanks for stopping by for the baliwaves.com daily Bali surf and weather report . Well I don’t know what happened yesterday I was supposed to get these current photos loaded up but some how it never happen’d. Anyway here they are, Scott was blasting away up at Canggu and was lucky enough to find two of Bali ’s hottest new wave surfers up there, Bol and Garut .
This morning’s 7.00am surf check down on the Outer Reefs of Tuban revealed a drop in wave size for today. The tide was still running in for a 8.00am 1.8mtr High and will be running out for 0.6 Low around 2.00pm . The wind was coming cleanly outta the ESE @ 4-7knot and straight off-shore between Legian and Uluwatu.
Nothing really happening between Kuta Reef and Airports with only 1-2ft of very fat looking swell only just breaking at the time. But maybe when the tide starts to empty out around lunch time ya might be able to find the odd waist to shoulder high set wave on Middle Reef . The beach breaks anywhere along the Kuta to Legian stretch would have been worth a paddle anytime around the top of the High. I don’t think there would be too much happening down south at Balangan or Dreamland . But Uluwatu should still be providing some waves in the shoulder to head high plus class on the Main Peak . Scott has sms’d us from Canggu where he’s currently shooting us some more photos and reckons that there was some ok 2-3 footers breaking. That was around 6.45am. He also mentioned that local ripsters Bol, Garut and friends were up there going off.
Weather wise it’s already starting to cook out there this morning with pure blue sky and sunshine. Right now at 9.30am the mercury is sitting on 27 degree’s Celsius and still climbing. While the water temperature is still averaging around 24 degree Celsius mark. Also currently happening here in Bali is the Nusa Dua Fiesta . I think there’s still another 5 days of activities and local displays of crafts / dancing along with tonne’s of other stuff to check out. So if you want to check that out rock over to Nusa Dua.
Now on a serious note ; I’m stoked that our Scholarship Program for underprivileged Balinese kids has done so well, THANKS BIG TIME to all the big hearted people who have got behind us and helped out. Now I’ve got a new program that I’d like to kick off. One that we can control and keep constant progress up-dates on. I’m talking about kinda adopting a school up in one of the area’s of Bali where there’s no cash flow from tourism and hardly any from anything else for that matter. The kids don’t have to pay school fees, because their Mum and Dad’s don’t have any money to pay. Half, or more of the kids that attend don’t even have shoes to wear to school and walk up to 4km’s bare footed to get there. Now in my opinion this is a worthy project for us to think about. What I’d like to start off with is trying to raise enough cash to get electricity hooked up to the school, with electricity we can then look at a lot of other basic stuff, like a water pump etc etc etc. Over the next few days I’m going to try and set up a page with more information on this project. But please if anyone would like to help me out with this noble cause don’t hesitate to send me an email via the “CONTACT” link at the bottom of this page, thanks.
SpecialThanks to Bryan & Trish Ryder, Rosemary Ryan for already offering support ! So come on folks we only 30-40 of us to chip in and we can get a school hooked up with something we all pretty much take for granted, electricity. Our target neded is Rp10,000,000. that’s around AU$1,250.
