Well what a wild night we had here in Bali. The rain was coming down like cats and
dogs and the wind was gale force. I made it down to the beach to do a check of
conditions once the rain stopped about 8am. Conditions were very messy with storm
like waves breaking out on the outer reefs. There had been a big high tide during
the night and I’m told an even bigger one on the way tonight. The local boat drivers
were bringing all the boats off the beach when I was there so I gave them a hand,
just to get the boats to safer ground. The wind was coming out of the south west and
then the north west swirling around and causing quite the mess. Just on my walk down
to the internet cafe to lodge my report there were fences down and debris all over
the road from the trees.
OK well it will only be the keen out there finding a wave today with strong winds
and squalling rain hitting us still. I am hoping though that in the next couple of
days things will clear up and I’ll get some fresh stuff for you guys. In the mean
time I’m battiing down the hatches and staying close to home. But just so you all
know waves do exist and you don’t forget how good it can be here in Beautiful Bali I
ve sent through so photos I took a few months ago at Padang Padang. Hope that these
will tide you over till I can get back out there for you. Enjoy.
Here’s a few photos I took at Padang Padang earlier in the year.
Scott Thompson.
We better say Thanks to Scott for helping us out with some reports while Slim’s been off-island. I’ve also heard from Scott that the bad weather has cracked and that it’s back to blue sky over there in Bali. Slims pretty happy with that seeing as though he’ll be back over there behind the lens come Monday. See ya’s then ok !
