This morning I was up at 5:30am to head over to Serangan. I was up for some surf time as I have not been getting into the waves myself much lately. Conditions were clean and on average were around the 2ft mark (waist high) with bigger sets in the head high range coming in every now and again. There was already a strong crew out the back when I made the paddle about 8am but there was enough waves so I managed to get a few to keep the sanity in tact. It was pretty hot and a cloudless sky made for a very pleasant session. It was only on the ride back home about 11:30am that I noticed that there was a few rain clouds coming out of the north.
Yesterday though was a different story, I was up at 6:30am and was walking out the door to check conditions when the rain came down. So putting that idea on hold for a couple of hours I went back to bed. When I got up the rain had cleared and the cloud cover slowly burnt away to have a pretty good day after all. I jumped on the bike about 11:30 and headed over to Serangan to see what conditions were like over that side, as this west coast was copy onshore winds and no swell. I managed to dodge the cows, pot holes and bus devouring sized puddles on my bike as I made my way along the road which takes you across to the beach. I arrived safely and was set up right on midday in my ususal spot. The waves were in the 1-2ft class with an occasional slightly bigger one. There was a lot guys in the water, I didn’t really do a head count. Conditions were clean, the sun was out, and everything was looking good. I hung around for about and hour and half trying to get a few shots for you guys which you can see in this report. I did forget to take my paddy hat which gives me the best protection so I got a little fried sitting in the sun. OK well thats it for another day, beautiful Bali has delivered the goods once again to our door step. Till next time.
