Bali Surf Report – February 21 2008

EVENING SURF UP-DATE **** Howdy crew, sorry about the late report but I’ve only just now been able to get on-line…. So what’s been happening surf and weather wise here in Bali you ask. Well the boys from Home Base were not content with more perfect Sanur Reef today, no they wanted to surf at yet another different location (spoilt so and so’s..lol). So it was strap the boards onto the roof of the rental and head for Sri-Lanka down towards Nusa Dua .

The lads arrived to see Sri-Lanka going off at possibly the best it’s been for a long time ! Wave height was in the 4-6ft range and lining up with some solid spitting barrels. There were probably around 30 surfers in the water at first but soon dropped down to the 10-15 mark before too long. Surfing conditions were clean and smooth up until around 10.30am before the wind did it’s shift to the SW blowing cross/on-shore. We couldn’t get any photos or video of todays session because it’s been raining steadily all bloody day , and still is now at 8.00pm.

Tomorrow I can’t do anything as I have an important meeting (Hindu related) but I’ll try and get Dewa Made to shoot some video for ya’s if possible (if not raining..).

Weather wise …. 0-10 the most wet day of the rainy season so far L

Swell Forecast. 18^th -23rd ; well we have had a good bump in SW swell today. This should continue to hold and maybe even increase in size a touch more over the next day or two. Then we should see another new system come into play and push wave height even bigger, before slowing tapering off. We also still have TC Nicholas active down underneath Indonesia, so we will have to keep an eye on that.

Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Kuta you’ll find that 1US$=Rp9,100 and 1AU$=Rp8,300 .
