March 30th surf report
The winds were out of the north again this morning. The guys headed out to see what was going on and ended up at Burgerworld. It was a little big for that spot again, but the tide was high so there were still plenty of good waves. Everybody was a little burned out from all the surfing and the sunny skies the last few days, so they didn’t make it an all day affair and got back to the resort right at lunchtime. After lunch, everyone was content to hang out or surf 4 Bobs, which was fun again this afternoon with shoulder high sets but a little chattery with the moderate, northish winds. Still lots of fun though! We are expecting the swell to fade further tomorrow
March 29 surf report
The winds were blowing out of the north at about 5 mph this morning and our short period swell looked like it was a little smaller, but still hanging in there. Some of our guests headed out to 4 Bobs and Karambat Left. Not long afterwards, the wind died and Rifles looked like there might be something going on so the rest of the guys went up there to check it out. It wasn’t epic Rifles due to the size, but it had everything else going for it so the crew hit it and ended up staying out for hours. It was sunny and glassy and no one was out, so there was no rush to come back! Rifles needs a certain size before it’s “real Riflesâ€, and some of the sets were almost there. Everyone was stoked because, looking at the forecasts, we didn’t think we would be surfing it at all. In the afternoon, we surfed 4 Bobs and John Candy’s. 4 Bobs had epic conditions again for about the 3rd day in a row with light westerlys in the afternoon. We are expecting the swell to fade tomorrow.
March 28th surf report
It was looking glassy this morning with only a light north wind blowing. We were expecting to send 2 boats, one to Bankvaults and one to Beng Beng, to cater to everybody’s surfing ability, but not long after the first boat left sets starting pumping into the playgrounds area in front of the resort. Everyone else quickly decided to surf here as short period sets were coming in with 5 or 6 waves to a set and everywhere was glassy. It wasn’t long before our boat came back from Bankvaults as the swell there was too mixed up to be any good, and so we all surfed 4 Bob’s, John Candy’s, and Karambat left to ourselves all day long. Everyone had a great time. We did have a few people in the afternoon go to Beng Beng because they had been frothing for it since we surfed it the other day and they are going home tomorrow. It was fun with head high sets and no one out, but the winds were slightly onshore with the light west winds that were blowing. Those west winds were good for us at the resort though! 4 Bobs was near perfect conditions, chest to shoulder high with bigger sets, and none of the other guests had any energy to surf any more! It was just me and some of the Kandui crew out and it was a great session. Nothing like the feeling of 4 friends trading waves when there are 6 waves in a set! We are expecting dropping surf tomorrow
March 27th surf report
The winds were north this morning like they have been for a few days now, but just as we were finishing up breakfast the wind turned west and the rain started coming down. Within a half an hour it was gone, but the west bump it created didn’t do the surf any good. We tried Last Resorts for a while, but it really wasn’t doing it so we headed for Nipusi. It was bigger than yesterday, but breaking all over the place and breaking closer to the channel, which is a sign that the swell had a lot of west in it. At least we were not late for lunch today! In the afternoon, the crew all ended up going out at John Candy’s. It was looking clean and fun and the guys wanted to check another wave off their list! Looking for that short period swell to get a little bigger tomorrow.
