**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Good morning crew and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves.com for your latest up-date on Bali’s surfing and weather conditions . Well yesterday by the time I made it back from my visit up into the mountains What little swell there was had faded out even further. The surfers staying here at Home Base reported in that they went on a wave hunt on both the East and West Coast of Bali while I was away. First up they tried Serangan to find some weak 1-2 footers and then decided to take a look at Secrets where wave height was even smaller. So from there they made a bee line to Uluwatu . Uluwatu was also only just breaking at head high on the set waves and with the big High tide and a crowd of 70 in the water they didn’t even bother unstrapping the boards.
This mornins surf check of the Outer Reefs here in Tuban is still only showing wave height breaking in the 1-2ft+ range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left . The first of the tides today was a 0.4mtr Low that went down around 6.30am and then we are going to get another solid 2.6mtr High around 1.00pm. The wind was coming outta the ENE @ 2-4knot but should tend further around to the ESE by mid morning and straight off-shore between Legian and Uluwatu.
I only saw one lone surfer aboard a reef taxi heading out for a surf this morning and I suppose if you had it to yourself you’d probably have fun. Middle Reef was the only section of reef that was surfable at waist to shoulder high. Kuta Reef and Airport Left might have something later on this morning when the tide turns for the run in. If our expected new swell starts to show, fingers crossed. Otherwise probably the best option for a paddle will be down along the beach breaks of Kuta to Legian.
Weather wise we had some heavy but brief rain through the early hours and there is still some cloud hanging around. Hopefully this front is associated with the approaching swell system. But we should end up with just another hot and sunny holiday type day. Our expected maximum temperature will be around the 30-32 degree Celsius mark while the water temperature is perfect for boardshorts at 23 degree’s Celsius.
The boys from Kandui Surf Resort have sent us through another batch of photos and surf reports from the Mentawai Islands and our man down under, Scott Thompson has delivered the run down on the Super Bank and D-Bah . So make sure you check out whats been happening elsewhere besides Bali.
For the surfer / fisherman out there, and isn’t there a little bit of fisherman in all of us ? Well you guys can take a look at the freshly up dated fishing report and photos from the last couple of days sport fishing here in Bali.
