**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Hello friends of Bali and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves.com for your daily surf and weather report . Seeing as though it’s Sunday today I thought I’d kinda take it easy so I took my time before heading down for the surf recon of the Outer Reefs here in Tuban.
So far so good, the wind is coming cleanly outta the ESE @ 5-8knot and blowing straight off-shore between Legian and Uluwatu. Our first tide of the day was a 0.9mtr Low @ 8.00am and then we’ll see a 2.1mtr High around 2.00pm this afternoon. (Don’t forget we have complete tide charts available for 2008 in our Surf Info over on the menue bar)
Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left has jacked over night and this morning we have some very nice waves peeling off in the 2-4ft range. Kuta Reef was looking real good and winding off for a good 80yrds+ in the shoulder to head high plus class with 12-18 surfers on it at 9.30am. Middle Reef was a touch bigger with 8-10 surfers out there. Airport Left was also in the shoulder to head high plus range but there woulda been 20+ surfers already on it.
With this amount of swell hitting the reefs you’d be able to find waves at every location all the way down to Uluwatu, Balangan, Dreamland, Bingin and Impossible’s . And Ulu would have to be breaking in the head to double head high range for the more *experienced surfers.
We also have some news fresh from Lakey Peak over on the ” island ” of Sumbawa” , and it sounds like the crew over there are doing alright surf wise as well. Here’s what my friend Craig Oliver had to say
Mate great day at Lakey Peak was breaking in the 3-6ft range for the early paddle then we moved down for some Periscope tubes as the tide started to fill in. The crowd also moved in with it so I ducked up to Nungas for a few uncrowded 3-4 footers. There are around 80 surfers over here at the moment but with plenty of waves happening at all reefs there’s still enough waves to go round.
Weather wise today in Bali we’d have to giver her a 10-10 on the baliwaves weather scale. Pure blue sky, off-shore wind and enough swell to keep all the folks here on vacation in smiles.
Don’t forget if any of you lot want to grab some photos or video footage surfing here in Bali and we can easily arrange it for ya.
