**** AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE **** Howdy folks and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves.com for the daily dose of Bali surf and weather info . And yes we do have a new swell gracing our reef and beach breaks today here in Bali .
My morning surf recon of the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing wave height brea king in the 3-5ft range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left . Clean conditions with hardly any wind at the time and all 3 sections were producing perfect waves. While Middle Reef was picking up some solid doubdle head high sets waves.
Scott has been working hard for us today and his first pot of call was down at Uluwatu but he reckoned it just wasn’t lining up properly at the time he was there. So he then took on the stairs at Bingin and that’s where these current photos were captured. But here’s what Scotto had to say anyway .
â€I was on location at 7am this morning. After a quick look at the outer reefs, I could see there was plenty of swell and as I watched a 5ft set come through I quickly got back to my room to organise the days adventure. Uluwatu was where I was going to he headed cause I was sure that there would be some solid waves down that way. When i arrived conditions were clean and overhead. There was 7 guys in the water, but sets were few and far between. For the 4 hours that I was there the crowd reached about 14 sitting on the outside break. Some where lucky to get waves from there right through out on the Bombie going through the Main Peak and down along the Racetrack section. This being quite some distance and jelly legs would cretainly be playing a part at the end. The current was pretty strong and many people were washed way down before the slow paddle back up the point and out to where everyone seemed to be sitting. It did not eventuate into much of a photo shoot though with only 30 shots the whole 4hour session. With rain and overcast conditions playing havoc with a photographers day. By 12 o’clock I had had enough and decieded to check a low tide spot like Bingin on the way home. Arriving I found a crew of about 30 sitting on the peak and taking some really nice 3-4ft waves. Barrells were open nearly every wave, if you could get one off the hungry local boys who were ripping as usual. Anyway I shot off a few photos for the hour that I was there and headed home relieved I had got something for my days efforts. Ok till next time, Scottoâ€
Lakey Peak on the island of Sumbawa ; We had a quick call from Lakey this morning with the local boys calling 8 footers hitting Lakey Peak but no one taking it on. I can imagine who 6ft Periscopes woulda been looking though….
Mentawai Islands ; And our friend form the Kan dui Surf Resort have once again sent us through some fresh photos and surf infofrom their part of Indonesia so check out what the boys and girls at Kandui have been getting into.
Readers Report ; Troy has also sent in some new photos from where he has been surfing down under in Sydney Australia. And it looks like the lucky bastard has reall been scoring some nice ones, for a change
Bali weather today ; Well we have had a mainly overcast type day today around here in Tuban. No rain fell around here and it’s been hot and humid for the most of it.
Swell Forecast : Well this current swell was pretty much right on track give or take 12hrs. Tomorrow should see a very slight drop in size but still plenty of solid waves happening around Bali . Sunday see’s a furth er drop in wave height before our next swell system starts to fill in around Monday or Tuesday and then the fun will begin a again. Then even furth er out towards the end of next week yet another solid swell should be making an appearance. So it’s gunna be waves, waves and more waves for the lucky buggers here on the happy little holiday island of B a l i .
Dreamland Developments and beyond ; I was sent an interesting article the other day and might just cheer up a lot of you honest people that have noticed developments along Bali ’s southern coastline getting outta control. If you want to check it out follow this link www.balidiscovery.com
Back Pain : Now this is something I want to tell ya’s about, anyone who has had to deal with it already knows just how disabling it is. I sure as hell do !
