**** AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE **** Hello surfers and thanks for dropping in to the baliwaves.com for your daily (7/7) fix of Bali surf and weather info . Not too mention other related issues on your favourite holiday island. And just before we get into todays surfing conditions I just want to let you all know that I had a bit of a browse on the net and was pretty shocked to see how many websites there are on Bali that are trying to cash in on from baliwaves.com. From surf shops, to boat charters and even un surf related stuff all using baliwaves as their search engine “key wordsâ€. But let me tell ya’s, none of these ring ins have ever given the Original Baliwaves.com any form of support and are in no way connected to us.
Ok back to the surf, I made it down for a surf recon of the Outer Reefs around 7.00am to find wave height still showing in the 3-4ft+ range between Kuta Reef and Airport left . There were a few nice ones peeling off on Kuta Reef at head high but kind of a long wait between the good ones . Middle Reef still had the occasional double head high set. And Airport Left was missing a lot of the swell and only brea king in the 1-2ft plus class.
The irst of our tides today was a 2.2mtr High around 9.00am and then followed up by a 0.5mtr Low tide @ 3.00pm . We also have the New Moon rising tomorrow so we will have some big tide differences over the next few days. The wind was pretty light early and then around 9.00am the ESE-SE off-shore Tradewind kicked in and tidy’d surfing conditions right up.
As ya’s can see in these latest images (frame grabs from the DV footage I was shooting) Dewa made and I were on location down at Uluwatu . Wave height down at Ulu was getting up towards the solid 6ft mark and there were some screamers hitting the Main Peak and also up on Temple ’s . Crowd wis e she woulda peaked at around 40 while we were on the scene from 9.00am through til 12.00pm. But by that time I already had around 15mins of video footage and we decided to pack up and head back to Home Base here in Tuban . Ok for now check the images and then later this evening I’ll load ya’s up 2-3 New Video Clips and ya’s can really get the feel of how it was down at Ulu today.
Scott called from where he was up at Canggu and reckoned it was dead up there with below average waves and hardly anyone in the water surfing them. On our way home we stopped for a look at Padang Padang and Impossibles . There were quite a few body boarders sitting on Padang Padang but wave height was a few and far between 2-3ft. But there were some long lines peeling down the reef at Impossible’s in the 2-4ft class and quite a few surfers spread through em.
Weather wise ; On the baliwaves.com scale of weather we’d have to give her a 8-10 for providing us with sweet sunshine, off-shore wind and some solid swell to seal it all.
I’ve also got some photos from the first day of the Rusty surf contest that kicked off at Sanur Reef yesterday and I’ll try and get those loaded into our Readers Report page for ya’s later on.

Swell Forecast : Well this current swell was pretty much right on track give or take 12hrs. Tomorrow should see a very slight drop in size but still plenty of solid waves happening around Bali . Sunday see’s a furth er drop in wave height before our next swell system starts to fill in around Monday or Tuesday and then the fun will begin a again. Then even furth er out towards the end of next week yet another solid swell should be making an appearance. So it’s gunna be waves, waves and more waves for the lucky buggers here on the happy little holiday island of B a l i .
