**** AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE **** Hello my fine Indonesia bound friends and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves.com daily (7/7) surf and weather report coming to ya’s live from your favorite surfing holiday destination of Bali .
Well this mornings 7.00am surf check of the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing smaller waves ranging in the 1 -2ft class between Kuta Reef and Airport Left . The first of our tides today was 2.1mtr High @ 8.00am and that was followed up with 0.7mtr Low @ 2.00pm . Wind direction was only light outta the East first up before the Tradewind kicked in turning ESE-SE and pumping up into the 15-20knot range.
Kuta Reef was pretty small this morning but there was still a couple of surfers out there catching some waist to waist high plus sets.
Middle Reef was already a bit full with the morning High tide at the time I checked it with half a dozen surfers on it.
Airport Left was handling the morning tide the best out of the big 3. Breaking in the waist to waist high plus class with 8 or 10 surfers in the line-up.

Impossible’s had a few 1-2 footers running down the reef around lunch time nothing special but if you were looking for somewhere to surf without to many other surfers around you Impossible’s was a good option.
Padang Padang wasn’t breaking but there was plenty of action on the beach as always.
Uluwatu , Dewa Made and I made it down to the cliff face warungs around 8.30am to find wave height breaking in the waist to head high range on the Main Peak with 15-20 surfers in the water. There were also another half a dozen surfers further down the reef riding the Temple section. Surfing conditions were clean and tidy with the cliffs protecting the waves from the strong off-shore wind. As the tide ran out there was also the odd wave running down the Racetrack.

Weather wise today we started of with a semi cloudy / sunny sky but by midday there’s nothing but blue sky and sunshine above the holiday island of Bali . Temperature wise, right now at 3.00pm the mercury would easily doing 30 degree’s on the Celsius scale.

Mentawai islands ; The good guys from the Kandui Surf Resort have sent us through another new batch of photos showing off more perfection in their part of Ind o. And you’ll be able to suss them out in the Surf Report section. Here’s another baliwaves bonus for ya’s dept; Anyday now we’ll also be providing ya’s with surf reports and photos from the Macaronis Surf Resort up in the Mentawai’s. I was talking to a couple of friends yesterday who have been out on charter in the Ments and they reckon if they ever make it back up there again they won’t be going on a boat after stopping off in the Surf Resorts. That’s where they’ll be heading. The Surf Resorts up there just make it all too easy for their guests with speed boats to zap you around all day and then back to the Resort for R & R in the evenings.
And for those who haven’t heard about the terrible accident that happened up in the Mentawai islands last week. Aussie surfer Darren Longbottom while doing some tow in surfing suffered a serious neck injury and is currently in a Singapore hospital unable to be moved.
