****MORNING SURF UP-DATE**** Hello folks and thanks for dropping by the baliwaves.com for your daily dose of Bali surfing and weather info. Well I was down the beach for a 6.15am surf check of the Outer Reefs. Just hoping that there was enough swell left to warrant a trip down to Uluwatu. But not to be I’m afraid.
Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left was only just showing in the 0.5 – 1ft range this morning and not much of a chance of a satisfying surf out there today. The first of our tides today is going to be a 0.4mtr Low @ 8.00am and then she’ll be running back in for a 2.0mtr High @ 2.00pm. Wind direction is already blowing off-shore outta the ESE-SE @ 5-8knot and you can count on it increasing in force through out the morning. But never the less it is clean off-shore between Kuta and Uluwatu.
Hmmm, like I said not much at all happening on the Outer Reefs this morning except for a knee to waist high freak set every now and again at Middle Reef while the tide is on the bottom. Then when the tide fill back in from lunch time onwards I’d say she’ll be pretty well flat on between Kuta Reef and Airports.
If you were really desperate or just plain keen as mustard or a young learner surfer you might find something small to ride down along the Kuta to legian stretch of beach breaks. Down on the Bukit end of Bali Uluwatu would still have the odd shoulder to head high set wave when there is a bit more water over the reef.
Hopefully tomorrow , Saturday we will see a new swell on the reefs and beach breaks around Bali so we can get out there for some action. Not too mention get ya’s some fresh photos and maybe even a video clip or two. In the mean time I’ll be loading some photos into our August Gallery featuring some of the best waves from this month. And by all means feel free to send me an EMAIL if you need some information that will help your next Bali Holiday run smoothly.
Weather wise , well there’s nothing wrong with that and we are going to be in for another top day with sunshine and suntans the call for today. Heading for an expected high temperature of around 29-30 degree’s Celsius. While the water temperature is still nippy at 19 degree’s Celsius.
Swell Forecast: (21st -26th) Ok well I’ve just had a quick peak at whats instore for us over the next week and it’s not looking to good but there’ll still be waves around for us all the same. Small waves over the remainder of the week, kinda yo-yo’ish, up and down with the tide. Then around Saturday we should see a neww swell fill in the gaps and provide us with some more opportunities and open up a few more locations.
Bali Fishing New’s ; Yesterday I finally got around to loading up some of the photos I’ve taken of some of the fish we’ve caught over the last 4 weeks. Plus a bit of a run down on what we’ve been up to. You can find that on our Fishing Report Page in the Reports Menue.
Exchange Rates ; Well the way the Australian dollar has been crashing the last couple of weeks it’s been hard to say what it’s doing today but it would be still ranging between Rp7,850 – Rp7,900 depending on location. While the US$ is still pretty stable at Rp9,100.
G-land, drop us an email if you want to cash in on the 10% discount offer at the G-Land surf camp.
The boys from Kandui Surfing resort in the Mentawai’s have also sent us some sick sick photos of there recent swell and you’ll find those on there surf report page. Plus the crew from Macaroni’s Surf resort have also sent us new photos and surf reports from their part of the Ments.
And just a reminder that we still have some original baliwaves.com T-Shirts (AU$13.00) and FREE stickers available for ya’s here in Bali so drop me a line.
We also have a NEW Home Base guest house close by to Airport Left and the other breaks of the Outer Reefs, 5 min walk.
