Kandui Surf Resort July 31st surf report
We felt like we missed it yesterday, so we were up before light and headed out to
Kandui’s first thing. Low and behold, it was firing again and no one was out! It
wasn’t as big as yesterday, but still well overhead and barreling! We had it to
ourselves before a few people started to trickle in, but the crowd is rarely a
factor out there. There are usually plenty of empty waves spitting down the reef
for anyone that wants to air drop into one! As the tide went out, people
disappeared one by one. Rasta (did I tell you he’s staying here for a few weeks?)
and our cook, Guto, were the last to go, but looking at the empty, clean tubes
cracking, they just couldn’t do it and they went back out for a couple of hours
more. I’m going to have to send MORE pictures! It was incredibly clean so it was
doable, even into the low tide. In the afternoon the tide was coming back up again, so it was more Kandui’s! The swell was noticeably dropping, but there were still plenty of good ones. We are expecting smaller surf tomorrow.
Kandui Surf Resort July 30th surf report
We had to pick up some guests from Tuapejet this morning and we decided to go
straight from there to surf Telescopes. We don’t go there a lot because it’s
usually a little smaller than the waves around here and usually more crowded as
well, but we figured the swell would be big enough to weed some people out so we gave it a try. We figured wrong! The swell was really not showing there very
strongly and it was pretty crowded. I think there was too much south in the swell.
We got a couple of waves that were overhead, then headed back to Kandui. Talking to the guys at the resort, we wished we would have skipped Telescopes! Kandui’s was going off again today, not as big as the last swell, but it was super good. Looks like I’m going to have to send some more pictures. You will tired of looking at sick pits before too long! In the afternoon when the tide got too low for Kandui’s , we went to Ebay. The conditions could not have been any better and the few people that were in the water were super mellow. The waves were overhead on the sets and super clean. Our only complaint was that it was inconsistent, but we all had a good time. We are expecting smaller surf
tomorrow.
Kandui Surf Resort July 29th surf report
The surf was actually looking a bit bigger this morning, and the winds were light
out of the southeast. We had some people leaving today so they headed to Bankvaults early to see what was going on. It was a little bit onshore, but the waves were bigger than yesterday and increasing. By the end of their session it was getting a few feet overhead. Our second boat headed for Beng Beng and they got some fun, shoulder high plus waves. Looks like this swell has a bit more south than the last one and it’s not getting into Beng Beng and the west facing reefs as well. We are expecting this new swell to increase and pretty much bomb tomorrow.

Super nice conditions again today. Really glassy. The surf was looking pretty
small though. It was glassy enough for the south facing reefs to be clean so our
first boat headed for Bankvaults. There was an occasional overhead set and there were periods of oil glass. The sun was out, and no one else was, so we all had a lot of fun. Our second boat went to Last Resort. It was overhead and no one else was out there as well. They had a good time too. In the afternoon, we sent a boat to Beng Beng. It was clean and about chest high or so. Still fun. Looking at possibly smaller surf tomorrow morning, but hoping for some bigger stuff by the afternoon.
