****EVENING SURF UP-DATE**** Hello surfers and welcome back to the baliwaves.com for the run down on todays surfing and weather conditions here on the happy little holiday island of Bali.
Well it’s been a long day for me but my first surf recon of the Outer Reefs went down at 7.30AM. And I am hppy to report that wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left has increased into the 2-4ft+ range.
Surfing conditions were perfect with the wind coming cleanly outta the ESE @ 3-7knot blowing straight off-shore between Kuta and Uluwatu.
Tides , The first of those today was a 2.0mtr High around the 9.30AM mark and then we had a 0.4mtr Low @ 4.00PM. And with the Full Moon set to rise tomorrow we will see the difference between high and low tide continue to increase over the next 3-4 days.
Kuta Reef this morning had some very fun looking little waves in the chest to head high plus range and breaking a lot more consistently than what it was yesterday. There was also still no shortage of surfers out there with at least 20 surfers in the line up by 8.00AM.
Middle Reef had some more solid set waves breaking in the head to almost double head high class and there was around another 15-20 surfers out there at the time.
Airport left was a little more inconsistent than KR or MR but when the set waves did come through they were still breaking in the chest to head high plus region.
Weather wise , well this morning it was perfect for holidays with the midday temperature peaking in the low 30’s on the Celsius scale.
Datah Primary School Project ; Well today I finally made time… to take a run up to the Datah Primary School with intentions of handing over the funds to complete the “paving objectiveâ€. Well yesterday I started to withdraw the funds from my local bank account via the ATM. This morning after trying to complete the withdrawal I found that every “BCA†bank ATM was dry of cash or turned off, re – economy crisis. But what funds I had already withdrawn I handed over to the school head master with a promise to return with the balance within the week. Anyway the amount I handed over was still enough to get the paving started. So as soon as the paving job gets underway I’ll post some photos of the progress.
Photo Up-Date ; The good guys at the G-Land Surf Camp have sent us through some new photos from the last swell we had and I’ll have those up on line for ya’s in another 20 minutes or so.
I also just wanna refresh ya’s about what baliwaves.com is all about. We’re not trying to flog ya’s surf trips or sell ya’s anything for that matter, we’re just trying to show ya’s how good it is here in Bali / Indonesia for a surfing holiday. We want you guys to come over and have a ball and then go back home and tell your friends how good it is.

We also have a NEW Home Base guest house close by to Airport Left and the other breaks of the Outer Reefs, 5 min walk. This place is more private and spacious with big air conditioned rooms, hot and cold water, tv and plenty of off street parking all enclosed in Balinese style. The rooms are US$15.00 for a room with big double bed and US$28.00 for a twin share room
Bali Fishing New’s ; I finally got around to loading up some of the photos I’ve taken of some of the fish we’ve caught over the last 4 weeks. Plus a bit of a run down on what we’ve been up to. You can find that on our Fishing Report Page in the Reports Menue.
Exchange Rates ; Well the way the Australian dollar has been crashing the last couple of weeks it’s been hard to say what it’s doing today but it would be still ranging between Rp6,150 – Rp6,250 depending on location.
And just a reminder that we still have some original baliwaves.com T-Shirts (AU$15.00) and FREE stickers available for ya’s here in Bali so drop me a line.
Don’t forget if any of you lot want to grab some photos or video footage surfing here in Bali and we can easily arrange it for ya. Or if ya check out the Wotashot.com banner you might even find a photo of you on your last trip to Bali.
If it’s somewhere a little more private you’r looking for take a look at the private bungalow for rent we have in our Business Directory and drop the owner Michael Owen an email. Michael is one of the old school surfers who rubs shoulders with the likes of Gerry Lopez and Peter McCabe just to name a couple of Indo Legends.
