****MIDDAY SURF UP-DATE**** Hello to all you surfers tuning in to the one and only original baliwaves.com for more surfing and weather info straight outta your No.1 surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Ok so to start the day off I went down for a 7.00AM surf recon of the Outer Reefs (well not exactly to start the day off, ya see I pumped out at least 25 email replies beforehand). But anyway at first glance wave height seemed to have dropped off a touch but still showing in the 2-4ft range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left.
Surfing conditions were perfect with a light ESE-SE off-shore wind @ 2-6knot.
Todays tide’s ; the first of those today was a 2.1mtr High @ 10.00AM and then she’ll be running out for a 0.4mtr Low around the 4.00PM mark.
Kuta Reef had a bit of a wait for the better sized set waves to come through but when they did they were still in the shoulder to head high range.
Middle Reef was picking up slightly more swell and there were some good shaped waves coming through while the tide was on the run in. Middle’s should continue to produce waves all through the afternoon run out tide.
Airport Left was a little more consistant than Kuta Reef but still in the same shoulder to head high range.
Impossible’s had plenty of head to head high plus lines bending down the reef as I passed by on the way to Uluwatu.
Padang Padang , 1-2ft
Uluwatu ; as ya’s can see in these latest photos I’ve thrown onto your monitors was producing some perfect waves when I arrived at 9.00AM. Wave height was coming through in a very consistant 3-4ft+ on the Main Peak and some ultra perfect waves breaking on the Temple section as well. Crowd wise it was fairly stable at around 50 surfers, definitely not as crowded as it has been over the previous weeks. Surfing conditions were also clean with off-shore wind through until around 10.30AM when the wind swung lightly to the West. I also managed to snap a few more body boarding photos for those that care and I’ll get them on-line later this evening.
Weather wise , hot hot hot, with the midday temperature peaking around 34 degree’s outta the shade.
Datah Primary School Project ; Well today I finally made time… to take a run up to the Datah Primary School with intentions of handing over the funds to complete the “paving objectiveâ€. Well yesterday I started to withdraw the funds from my local bank account via the ATM. This morning after trying to complete the withdrawal I found that every “BCA†bank ATM was dry of cash or turned off, re – economy crisis. But what funds I had already withdrawn I handed over to the school head master with a promise to return with the balance within the week. Anyway the amount I handed over was still enough to get the paving started. So as soon as the paving job gets underway I’ll post some photos of the progress.
Photo Up-Date ; The good guys at the G-Land Surf Camp have sent us through some new photos from the last swell we had.
I also just wanna refresh ya’s about what baliwaves.com is all about. We’re not trying to flog ya’s surf trips or sell ya’s anything for that matter, we’re just trying to show ya’s how good it is here in Bali / Indonesia for a surfing holiday. We want you guys to come over and have a ball and then go back home and tell your friends how good it is.

The rooms are US$15.00 for a room with big double bed and US$28.00 for a twin share room
Bali Fishing New’s ; I finally got around to loading up some of the photos I’ve taken of some of the fish we’ve caught over the last 4 weeks. Plus a bit of a run down on what we’ve been up to. You can find that on our Fishing Report Page in the Reports Menue.
Exchange Rates ; Well the way the Australian dollar has been crashing the last couple of weeks it’s been hard to say what it’s doing today but it would be still ranging between Rp6,150 – Rp6,250 depending on location.
And just a reminder that we still have some original baliwaves.com T-Shirts (AU$15.00) and FREE stickers available for ya’s here in Bali so drop me a line.

If it’s somewhere a little more private you’r looking for take a look at the private bungalow for rent we have in our Business Directory and drop the owner Michael Owen an email. Michael is one of the old school surfers who rubs shoulders with the likes of Gerry Lopez and Peter McCabe just to name a couple of Indo Legends.
