****MORNING SURF UP-DATE**** Good morning friends and thanks for taking the time out from your strenuous duties at work to tune into the baliwaves.com for the daily dose of Bali surf and weather medicine.
And I’m sorry to say but it’s another fantastic day coming on here on the holiday island of Bali. My first surf recon of the Outer reefs was at 6.20AM and although the tide was a reef exposing 0.1mtr there’s plenty of potential for waves with 2-3ft+ of swell hitting Kuta Reef down to Airport Left.
Surfing conditions were perfectly clean with the aid of a 3-7knot off-shore ESE Tradewind.
Tide’s , the next tide is going to be a 2.1mtr High around midday
Well like I already mentioned the tide was pretty damn dry for the dawn patrollers but by 7.00AM there were already a couple of surfers venturing out towards Middle Reef. Wave height was showing in the head to head high plus range at Middle’s and it should be fun out there through until the tide starts to fill back in.
Kuta Reef was showing similar sized waves as yesterdays perfection and I plan on taking a closer look out there as soon as this report goes on-line.
Airports will also have some short but sweet little waves in the head high class towards mid morning and into the early afternoon.
Down on the Bukit , Once again there’s be a few options to find a wave down there today. With the early morning low tide Bingin would have been producing a few mechanical barrels in the waist to head high class. The Racetrack at Uluwatu would also have been a popular choice with the crew staying down that way. Later when the tide fills in Balangan and the main Peak and Temple sections of Uluwatu will be crowd pleasers.
Weather wise today we have some light cloud cover over us at the moment but you can count on the sun burning that off by late morning for another hot and sunny day for all the lucky people here on vacation.
Datah Primary School Project ; Well today I finally made time… to take a run up to the Datah Primary School with intentions of handing over the funds to complete the “paving objectiveâ€. Well yesterday I started to withdraw the funds from my local bank account via the ATM. This morning after trying to complete the withdrawal I found that every “BCA†bank ATM was dry of cash or turned off, re – economy crisis. But what funds I had already withdrawn I handed over to the school head master with a promise to return with the balance within the week. Anyway the amount I handed over was still enough to get the paving started. So as soon as the paving job gets underway I’ll post some photos of the progress.
Photo Up-Date ; The good guys at the G-Land Surf Camp have sent us through some new photos from the last swell we had.
I also just wanna refresh ya’s about what baliwaves.com is all about. We’re not trying to flog ya’s surf trips or sell ya’s anything for that matter, we’re just trying to show ya’s how good it is here in Bali / Indonesia for a surfing holiday. We want you guys to come over and have a ball and then go back home and tell your friends how good it is.

The rooms are US$15.00 for a room with big double bed and US$28.00 for a twin share room
Bali Fishing New’s ; I finally got around to loading up some of the photos I’ve taken of some of the fish we’ve caught over the last 4 weeks. Plus a bit of a run down on what we’ve been up to. You can find that on our Fishing Report Page in the Reports Menue.
Exchange Rates ; Well the way the Australian dollar has been crashing the last couple of weeks it’s been hard to say what it’s doing today but it would be still ranging between Rp6,150 – Rp6,250 depending on location.
And just a reminder that we still have some original baliwaves.com T-Shirts (AU$15.00) and FREE stickers available for ya’s here in Bali so drop me a line.
Don’t forget if any of you lot want to grab some photos or video footage surfing here in Bali and we can easily arrange it for ya. Or if ya check out the Wotashot.com banner you might even find a photo of you on your last trip to Bali.
If it’s somewhere a little more private you’r looking for take a look at the private bungalow for rent we have in our Business Directory and drop the owner Michael Owen an email. Michael is one of the old school surfers who rubs shoulders with the likes of Gerry Lopez and Peter McCabe just to name a couple of Indo Legends.
Best Regards from the No.1 surfing holiday destination that’s got it all, BALI , see ya’s here in 2008
