****MORNING SURF UP-DATE**** Good morning guys and girls and thanks for taking the time out for a quick look at todays surfing and weather conditions here on your favourite surfing holiday destination of Bali.
So here we are in October , the end of the Dry “Peak†Season is just starting to draw near and soon we’ll be over on the East Coast surfing and bringing ya’s the latest info from Bali. But personally I really dig this transitional period of dry to wet seasons. It usually means light and variable wind and warm to very hot weather. The light winds give us the opportunity to do some surfing at different and less crowded locations. So if you’ve got the time there’s no reason not to get yourself over here to Bali.
It’s just too nice a day coming on here to stay in bed so I was down the beach for a surf recon of the Outer Reefs at 6.30am. And to go with the fine weather we also have a slight boost in wave height between Kuta Reef and Airports. Nothing spectacular but all the same there’s some fun looking waves in the 2-3ft+ range out there.
Wind direction was coming outta the NNW @ 1-2knot and hardly existent. And it will more than likely swing back around to the ESE-SE and off-shore just like it did yesterday around late morning / midday.
Tidewise today we had a 0.1mtr Low @ 6.00AM, then we’ll have a 2.2mtr High @ 12.00noon, followed up with another 0.3mtr Low around 6.00PM.
The tide was still too low for Kuta Reef or Airports first up this morning but as the tide continues to run in you would be able to find some waist to chest high plus waves on these mid to high tide reef breaks. Middle Reef at the time being better suited to the lower end of the tide was already producing some fun sized chest to head high waves and there was already a ew surfers out there to enjoy em.
I’d say around the mid tide mark you’d also be able to find a few waves up at Canggu and of course there’d also be plenty of waves down on the southern end of the island at Uluwatu. The beach breaks up along the Kuta “Half Way†stretch and all the way along to Seminyak would also have plenty of punchy little beachies on offer on the top of the tide.
Weather wise ; a perfect 10 !
Water Temperature ; 23 – 24 degree’s Celsius
Swell Forecast (2nd – 7th October) small but fun sized waves are what we have today but maybe dropping off a touch through Friday and Saturday morning before a new moderate sized swell will start to show on the reefs around Saturday afternoon. This one should hold through till Monday and then finally fading back down into the 2-3ft+ range come Tuesday.
.Photo Up-Date; I also better let ya’s know that there’s another 120 photos been loaded into of Surfing Gallery for the month of September..

Bali Fishing New’s ; I finally got around to loading up some of the photos I’ve taken of some of the fish we’ve caught over the last 4 weeks. Plus a bit of a run down on what we’ve been up to. You can find that on our Fishing Report Page in the Reports Menue.
Exchange Rates ; Well the way the Australian dollar has been crashing the last couple of weeks it’s been hard to say what it’s doing today but it would be still ranging between Rp7,450 – Rp7,500 depending on location. While the US$ is still pretty stable at Rp9,050.
And just a reminder that we still have some original baliwaves.com T-Shirts (AU$15.00) and FREE stickers available for ya’s here in Bali so drop me a line.
