****AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE**** Hi crew and welcome back to the one and only original baliwaves.com for the latest info on surfing and weather conditions from the No.1 surfing holiday destination of Bali.
My first surf check this morning went down at 7.00AM on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban. Wave height had appeared to have increased a notch or two and was showing in the 1-3ft range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left.
Surfing conditions unfortunately were far from perfect here along the West Coast with the wind coming out of the WSW @ 4-7knot, blowing straight on-shore.
Tide wise , our first today was a 0.7mtr Low @ 12.00noon and then we will have a 1.9mtr High filling back in around the 6.00pm mark.
So with the wind blowing fresh out of the WSW this morning the boys from Home Base and I thought we’d better take a run over to Serangan on the East Coast and see what was happening. It has been about 7-8 months since my last visit there. Apon arrival everyone was pretty happy to see wave height rolling through in the chest to head high plus range with the wind all but off-shore. But I had also previously warned the boys that Serangan was notorious of attracting a solid crowd.
There would have had to have been close to 100 surfers in the water, possible more, but spread over 4 different take off sections, with the best waves breaking on the left and right peak straight in front of the beach side café’s. We only hang around for about 4 hours seeing as the tide was almost on the bottom of the low and surfing conditions not as good as when the tide was still up.
Weather wise today we were off to another cloudy start to the day but around 10.00AM when the sun started to bust through and get the temperature soaring again.
Swell Forecast , well I did have a quick browse through the various forecasting websites yesterday but things don’t look too good for an immediate swell injection. I’ll take a more thorough look tonight and give you my opinion on tomorrows surf report.
I also just wanna refresh ya’s about what baliwaves.com is all about.
