****MORNING SURF UP-DATE**** Hi surfers and thanks for calling by the baliwaves.com to see whats been happening surf and weather wise here on the No.1 surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Well to tell ya’s the truth, not a lots been happening. Infact sweet FA. Yesterday the 17th out of desperation I trekked over to Serangan on the East Coast with the camera equipment hoping to at least find something to shoot. But I didn’t even bother opening the case. Wave height at Seranagn was a massive knee high with the very occasional waist high freak set. Not too mention the 100 or so surfers plus a couple of surf schools that were in the water, the only thing missing was stand up paddlers… But I can say that at least the wind was blowing clean off-shore out of the West @ 8-14knot+. You can always tell when the wind is straight off-shore at Seranagn by the stench in the air from the huge garbage disposal area a couple of km’s back down the road.
This mornings surf check of the Outer Reefs was showing about the same size as yesterday 1-1ft+ between Kuta Reef and Airport Left and the wind is once again fresh out o the West @ 8-10knot and more than likely will increase through out the day.
Tide wise we have a 0.4mtr Low set for 9.00Am and then a moderate High of 2.2mtrs around 3.00Pm.
Looking for a wave today, your going to be hard pressed and the best options will be along the Nyang Nyangs to Geger Beach (Nusa Dua) stretch of South Eastern coastline. But the charts are also saying that wave height is going keep backing off through the day so this morning will be the best bet as the tide starts to push back in.
Weather wise it’s been pretty bad up until yesterday afternoon with lots of heavy rain. This morning we still have cloud cover but it’s only light and up high. So hopefully we’ll see a return of blue sky and sunshine by midday.
Ok then as soon as we get some waves I’ll take some photos for you, until then have a great day where ever you are and we hope to see you here in Bali 2009.
Photo up-dates, Scott sent us another surf report and photos in from Burleigh Heads on Autralia’s Gold Coast. Plus I managed to load up over 100 photos into our January Surfing Gallery. So have a flick through those to give you some Bali Holiday inspiration.
