AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE
Hello again to all you surfers wanting to know whats really been happening here on your favourite surfing holiday destination of Bali. So please read on !
Ok then our first surf check was on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban and wave height was still holding in that 1-2ft range which to us means waist to waist high plus of course. Surfing conditions were very clean due to the fact there wasn’t any wind at all. Not really big enough for Kuta Reef to be producing it’s long quality left handers. But there were a few smallies peeling off on Middle Reef and Airport Left with surfers out there riding them at 7.45Am.
But as you can see in our current photos I snapped off we made a bee line down to Uluwatu knowing that that would be the place to find the best waves and best conditions on the island. On arrival our first glimpse was of someone pulling into a nice head high plus barrel. So with smiles on our faces I set up the 1000mm while our guests changed into their boardies.
Wave height down at Ulu this morning was a consistant 2-3ft with the very occasional bigger set wave hitting the Main Peak. Crowd wise it was also pretty mellow with only 28 surfers scattered between the Racetrack and Main Peak. There was also some fine little head high waves peeling down the Temple section and no one up there riding them.
We hung out in the warung until 12.00noon just as the wind was starting to pick up out of the West. Driving home past Padang Padang and Impossible’s wave height would have been lucky to be breaking in the knee high class at Impossible’s and no waves at all breaking at Padang Padang.
Weather wise today, perfect with a top temperature of around 29-30 degree’s Celsius.
Ok crew thanks for tuning in and hopefully we’ll have our new design baliwaves.com on line for you starting some time tomorrow. Don’t be too critical with us as I’m sure there’ll be a few little things we’ll have to tweak.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Tuban you’ll find that 1AU$=Rp7,600 and 1US$=Rp11,990 give or take 100Rupiah depending on vender.
Best Regards from the No.1 surfing holiday destination that’s got it all, BALI, see ya’s here in 2009
