This valentines weekend has been quite the nice change with all the other disasters that have been happening around this country of ours. The Gold Coast points started to fire with fun 3-4ft sized waves running down the currently well groomed sand banks. This morning I was out in the water enjoying the conditions and was planning on doing a photo shoot later in the afternoon.
The best laid plans go astray though, as I was about to walk out the door, ring a friend and meet up, the dark rain clouds came over and the rain came down. So my plans were put on hold, it blew over reasonably quick. That being said it was still late enough for me to think light was going to be an issue. It was a little, and I only had about 10 min before the sun dissapeared behind that heavy dark cloud bank.
When I arrived home, again the rain came down so overall it was a lucky little window getting these shots to check out.
As it was already 6pm when I got down to snapper rocks I was not sure I would get to many, and I didn’t. Anyway these few shots give you an idea of how conditions were this afternoon the 15th Feb. The waves had dropped a little from the mornings session but there was a few pro’s putting in some practice for the begginning of the years competition. I noticed world number 2 Bede Durbidge getting a few and Bobby Martinez was walking towards me as I was parking the car.
Anyway come competition day i will be trying to bring you a few shots of what is going down, so stay tuned.
Until next time. Scott.
