****MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
Hello surfers and welcome back to the baliwaves.com for the complete picture on todays surfing and weather conditions from the happy little holiday island of Bali.
Sorry about no report for ya’s yesterday but I had to head up into the mountains to my local Banjar to cast my vote in yesterdays preliminary elections. I also managed to drop into the Datah Primary School (School Project) and see how things have been going. It was a school holiday but I had one of the teachers accompany me for access. I’ll be doing another up-date for the School Project page later on today.
This is not good was the first thing that came to my mind (well the second really but I can’t print the first) when I took the 7.00am surf check of the Outer Reefs. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport left would have lucky to have been in the 6 inch range on the bigger sets. But even so there were half a dozen reef taxi’s parked in the channel at Airports and the Japanese crew were making the most of it. Nothing at all breaking on Kuta Reef or Middle’s.
Surfing conditions are once again perfect with clean off-shore wind coming out of the East @ 3-5knot, but should increase in strength through out the morning.
Tidal info for today, the first tide is going to be a solid 2.5mtr High @ 10.30am so don’t expect surfing conditions to improve. Then she’ll be running back out for a 0.2mtr Low around 5.00pm.
Looking for a wave today, well I’ve already received our daily sms surf report from the G-Land Surf Camp and if they say wave height at G-land is only in the 2ft (waist high) then we are going to be hard pressed to find a wave anywhere else in Bali or Indonesia for that matter. I also heard that Nusa Dua and Green Bowls were only showing in the waist high class before the Tradewind kicked in blowing on-shore over there on the east Coast of Bali. So instead of looking for a wave, I’d be looking for something else to do today. .
Swell situation, I have to admit this year, so far anyway, has got to be one of the lamest that I can ever remember for lack of swell. Hopefully sometime in the next 24hrs we’ll see a small improvement in wave height and then another spike around Monday / Tuesday. But still it’s only going to be head to head high plus at best, at this stage anyway.
Weather wise, faultless holiday conditions for the luck people here on holidays. Expecting a maximum temperature of around 32 degree’s Celsius with the water temp sitting on 23 Celsius.
