Canggu
This morning I was keen to go and take some photos as the last few days I have been getting a few waves myself. Hoping that things would be similar with some north in the wind early, I didn’t bother with a surf check. Instead I headed straight up to Canggu.
On Arrival there were waves breaking on all sections with waves in the 2-4ft range. I bumped into a couple of boys from home and after a quick chat, loaded the camera and headed up to the river mouth. There was around 20+ surfers on this section of the break and everyone seemed to be getting waves. The tide was on the way out and the current was moving around a fair bit, but I hung in there for about an hour and half. You have to swim non-stop to stay in position between sets, for those of you that think its easy getting water shots.
OK well as you can see in the photos the boys were enjoying a few barrels and there was plenty of wackable walls. There was also a good crowd on the sandbar and the reef out the front of the warungs. I think the river mouth was probably the pick though.
As I was packing up I sighted a few of the pro’s back in town, namely Jordy Smith who was doing some damage to the sandbar and Dion Agius getting ready.
OK well thats it for me, I might even try for a wave myself later.. we’ll see.
Till next time.
