****AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE****
Hello surfers and welcome back to the baliwaves.com and your eye’s on whats happening surf and weather wise here on the holiday island of Bali. And a big thanks to our photography team down at Uluwatu (HENDRA SURF PHOTOGRAPHY) for these latest photos.
This mornings surf check on the Outer reefs here in Tuban was showing a slight increase in wave height, with 2-3 footers breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. I was down on the beach at 7.00am and there were already half a dozen surfers sitting on all 3 of the main sections.
Surfing conditions at the time were not the best with the wind blowing on-shore coming out of the WNW @ 4-6knot. That lasted up until 9.45am when the off-shore ESE-SE Tradewind kicked in and set things right.
Tidal info for today was saying we had a 1.0mtr Low @ 10.00am and then we’ll get a 2.2mtr High around 4.00pm.
Looking for a wave today over on the East Coast you would have found some ok waves at Keramas and at Nusa Dua while the wind was coming out of the WNW. Then from mid morning onwards Uluwatu would have been producing the goods here on Bali’s West Coast.
Our daily sms surf report from the G-land Surf Camp was calling a slight increase in wave height for the boys and girls in G-land. With 3-4 footers peeling down Money Tree’s and looking good for when the off-shore wind kicked in.
Weather wise today we had a sunny start to the day then from midday we started to get some high and thin cloud cover. Temperature wise the mercury would have peaked at 29-30 degree’s Celsius along with a high humidity level.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Kuta you’ll find that; –1AU$=Rp8,185 — 1US$=Rp10,175 —
Ok that’s about us for the 1st day of June and the start of our Peak holiday season for ’09. Drop by again tomorrow and we’ll let ya’s know whats happening here in Bali.
Cheers
Slim
