****MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
Good morning surfers and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves.com today for the most up to date information on todays surfing and weather conditions here on the one stop surfing holiday island of Bali.
First of all as I mentioned in yesterdays report about wave height maybe increasing with the incoming tide, well thats exactly what did happen. By midday yesterday wave height was smoking through in the 2-4ft+ range (up to double head high) between Kuta Reef and Airports. And as you can see in a couple of these latest photos that Hendra sent us last night Uluwatu was pushing 6ft or up to tripple head high plus.
This mornings 7.45am surf check of the Outer reefs here in Tuban was still looking pretty good although wave height has backed off a touch. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left is now showing in the 2.3ft+ (chest to head high plus). The tide was still on the run out and heading for a 0.8mtr Low set for 10.30am, so Middle Reef was the best option for a paddle on the Outers. But as the tide turns and starts it’s run back in for the 4.00pm scheduled 1.5mtr High Kuta reef and Airport left will have a few smallies on offer up to head high. Down at Uluwatu I’m sure wave height would still be at least pushing double head high.
Surfing conditions are clean but once again the ESE-SE Tradewind has kicked in early and already gusting up to 15knot+
Weather wise here in the Tuban / Kuta area this morning we are back to blue sky and sunshine, heading for an expected maximum of 31 degree’s Celsius along the beach.
Swell Forecast; Hmmm, well as ar as I can tell wave height is going to slowly fade further through out today and tomorrow. Then late Wednesday evening a small system is going to start to show but nothing to impressive size wise. Thursday see’s wave height in the 3-5ft+ (head to double head high plus) range at the better locations, more southern facing. Holding into Friday morning before starting to back off through out the day and into Saturday. Another small spike expected for Sunday, but only short lived and dying off toward the afternoon. Then it’s back to small conditions for Monday and Tuesday. Hopefully come Wednesday we’ll see a slightly better system producing waves back up in the 3-5ft+ range.
Yesterday I was forwarded a link to an article from a long time Bali veteran who shares some similar views as I do. If your interested check it out via this link; http://novelistinparadise.com//?p=829 Bali Surf report
