****MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
Good morning folks and welcome back to the baliwaves.com for the low down on todays surfing and weather conditions here on your favourite surfing holiday destination of Bali. And relentlessly Hendra and his Team have delivered us yet another batch of photos from Uluwatu, so a big thanks to those guys !
This mornings 6.30am surf recon of the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing wave height to still be hanging in the waist to head high range between Kuta Reef and Airport left. There wasn’t much happening on Kuta Reef or Airport Left, only just waist high on the sets. But Middle Reef was producing some ok looking chest to head high waves. And even at that time of the morning there were plenty of sleepy eyed surfers turning up by the minute.
Surfing conditions were and are going to be very testy today with the wind howling out of the ESE-SE and gusts of up to 25knot, but still off-shore between Kuta and Uluwatu.
Looking for a wave today your going to find the cleanest conditions anywhere where there is a cliff front to buffer the wind. So down on the Bukit is where to look.
Tidal info for today is calling for a 2.0mtr High @ 2.00pm and then a 0.6 Low around 2.30pm.
Weather wise, well for Bali standards it’s comparable to a cold winters day anywhere else in the World. Heading for a top temperature of around 26-27 degree’s Celsius along the beach.
G-land; Ok the 10% discount for the early bookings into the G-Land Surf Camp has finished but I’ve spoken with the boss and he’s still prepared to give anyone who mentions baliwaves.com a 5% discount on standard, twin share and fan bungalows and a 10% discount on their air conditioned bungalows. Just mention baliwaves.com at their office and you’ll get money back in your pocket.
And don’t forget to drop me a line if your looking for some surfer friendly accommodation here in Tuban / Bali (the quiter end of town). Right here at Home Base we have single rooms for US$15.00, US$18.00 for couple’s & US$25.00 for a twin share room. All rooms have Air conditioning, hot and cold water, tv, refridgerator and large private bathroom. 300mtrs back from the beach in fron of the Outer reefs here in Tuban.
Surf Board special offer; It just so happens a friend of mine here in Bali is holding 3 brand new boards, never ridden or even waxed and is offering them at a special price of AU$525.00. These aren’t back yard or pop out boards either made by one of the most reputable shapers in Australia. Sizes are 6’3″ & 6’6″ So if your after a high performance new board drop us an email and I’ll put you in touch.
Photo Up-Date; The good guys at the G-land Surf Camp have sent us a few photos that were taken over at G-land over the last few days and you can find them on our G-land Report page.
Swell Prediction; Ok well here’s my interpretation of what we can expect swell wise over the next week. Late Tuesday afternoon we should see a small swell start to show boosting wave height back into the 3-5ft range. This will take us through to Wednesday afternoon before starting to fade on us. Then come Friday another similar sized system should give us some more waves through till Sunday. Further out in the Indian Ocean there is a solid swell moving our way and fingers crossed that should be here by next Tesday / Wednesday.
Ok crew I hope your week gets off to a good start, and stick around on the baliwaves.com cause we’ll be delivering the good to ya’s all through it.
Best Regards from Bali
Slim
