****MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
Hello crew and welcome aboard the baliwaves.com for our Sunday Session on todays surfing and weather conditions here on the happy little holiday island of Bali.
Our 7.00AM surf recon of the Outer reefs here in Tuban (Kuta Reef, Middle Reef & Airport left) was still showing plenty of swell getting into all 3 main sections of the reef. Wave height was averaging in the 3-4ft (head to over head high) with the occassional bigger freak sets in the double head high class. At the time there was still enough tide for Kuta Reef and there were some very nice waves peeling off in the head to head high plus sector. No shortage of surfers with at least 20+ in the water by 8.00AM. Middle Reef was picking up those bigger freak sets in the double head high class, crowd wise there would have been at least another 20 riders out there. Airport left didn’t seem to be getting nearly as much swell as Middle’s or even Kuta Reef with wave height in the chest to head high range. That’s usually the case when there is more Westerly direction in the swell.
Surfing conditions at the time were clean and glassy but again the wind was coming lightly out of the WNW @ 2-3knot.
Tidal info for today has a 0.7mtr Low @ 9.30AM and then a small range 1.5mtr High around the 3.00PM mark.
Weather wise here in Bali this morning we are off to another warm and sunny start, heading for a top temperature in the low to mid 30’s Celsius along the beach.
Sms surf report from the G-Land Surf Camp was saying that wave height is still holding in the 5-6ft range (double to tripple head high). Long lines peeling down the reef and only 2 surfers in the water on Kongs at the time of the report.
Looking for a wave around Bali this morning you could find a wave at just about any location you could think of. I’m sure the early birds who went back up to Keramas on the East Coast would have reaped the rewards.
If it’s clean safe and friendly accommodation here in Tuban only 300mtrs back from the Outer Reefs, including A/C, hot water, refridgerator & TV for US$15.00 (Rp150,000) per night (single) or US$18.00 (Rp180,000) for a couple and US$25.00 (Rp250,000) twin share. Then drop me an email but usually we do need a few weeks notice.
G-Land we are offering you a 5% discount on all standard packages and 10% on air conditioned packages at the G-Land Surf Camp. And from all report’s I’ve heard of late, right now is an ideal time to get over there and score some un-crowded waves
We are also now sending out brief random surf reports and ravings through Twitter mobile phone service so sign up today !
Best Regards from Bali
