****MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
Howdy folks and glad to have you dropping in for a look at todays surfing and weather conditions here on your best bet for waves holiday destination of Bali. Another thanks to Hendra and his team for another round of photos from none other than Padang Padang yesterday.
This mornings 8.00AM surf check on the Outer reefs here in Tuban was still showing some nice sized waves, ranging between head to double head high between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. At the time the wind was coming lightly out of the WNW @ 2-4knot and on-shore. But within the hour by 9.00AM the Tradewind was starting to kick in with clean ESE off-shore wind between Kuta and Uluwatu. Kuta Reef had just the right amount of water from the early morning high tide and was delivering some solid tubes and long walls in the head to head high plus range. But no shortage of surfers with at least a crew of 30+ on it by 8.00AM. I also saw a couple of boards get snapped and a couple of reef tattoo’s given out. Middle Reef didn’t have any surfers on it at the time, but around midday as the tide bottoms out should be pretty good with wave height up to double head high. Airport Left wasn’t picking up as much swell as Kuta Reef but still the occassional over head set wave.
Surfing conditions as I mentioned have cleaned right up with the ESE-SE Tradewind gusting up to 10knot+
Tidal info for today says we had a 1.8mtr High around 7.00AM and then she’ll be running out for a 0.7mtr Low around 2.00PM.
Weather wise around this part of the island there was some cloud cover early but now at 10.30AM we have a mainly clear and blue sky. Heading for a top temperature of around 33 degree’s Celsius and some humidity thrown in as well.
If it’s clean safe and friendly accommodation here in Tuban only 300mtrs back from the Outer Reefs, including A/C, hot water, refridgerator & TV for US$15.00 per night (single) or US$18.00 for a couple and US$25.00 twin share. Then drop me an email but usually we do need a few weeks notice.
G-Land we are offering you a 5% discount on all standard packages and 10% on air conditioned packages at the G-Land Surf Camp. And from all report’s I’ve heard of late, right now is an ideal time to get over there and score some un-crowded waves
We are also now sending out brief random surf reports and ravings through Twitter mobile phone service so sign up today !
I should have another batch of bodyboarding photos from Padang Padang to load up later this afternoon. So if your into that you should know where to find them.
Alrighty then have a good one what ever’s happening today, and it’s not too late to get down to your local travel agent and book a flight to Bali today !!
Best Regards
Slim
