****MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
Good morning to all you surfers tuning into the baliwaves for the latest news on todays surfing and weather conditions from here on the happy little holiday island of Bali. And as you can see in todays photos (Hendra Surf Photography) yesterday wave height kept on building through out the day.
This mornings surf check on the Outer reefs here in Tuban was showing (as expected) wave height to have backed off, down into the waist to head high plus range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. The tide was on around the bottom of the mark at the time I was on the beach so Middle Reef was the best prospect for a paddle. Middle’s was still showing head to well over head high waves and there was at least 10 surfers out there at 8.00AM. As the tide pushes back in Kuta Reef will be the next best option around here with waves coming through in the waist to head high class. Down on the Southern end of the island you could still expect to find Uluwatu breaking in the double head high range. I also heard that Balangan was producing some nice waves yesterday.
Surfing conditions were clean enough this morning but the wind was coming out of the South @ 2-5knot. Since then it has swung back around to the SE-SSE and increased to around 10knot+.
Tidal info for today is saying we had a 0.2mtr Low @ 7.00AM and then she’ll be filling back in for a 2.1mtr High @ 1.00PM
Weather wise we had more rain through the night and into the early hours of the morning. Now @ 9.30AM the sky is mainly blue with some scattered cloud moving across. Heading for a top temperature of around 32 degree’s Celsius.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Kuta you’ll find that — 1AU$=Rp8,550 — 1US$=Rp9.950 —
Swell Forecast; Well it’s getting a bit risky in this department with a lot of “way off the mark” info on the net of late. But…. if what the forecasters are predicting for the next week is true we are in for plenty of waves here in Indonesia. It looks like our next boost will arrive this coming Tuesday that is going to be backed up by at least another swell right behind it. Then further out on the radar there is what looks like to be the biggest swell that we’ve seen in quite awhile in transit to us. That should smack into this island around next Saturday.
If it’s clean safe and friendly accommodation here in Tuban only 300mtrs back from the Outer Reefs, including A/C, hot water, refridgerator & TV for US$15.00 per night (single) or US$18.00 for a couple and US$25.00 twin share. Then drop me an email but usually we do need a few weeks notice.
G-Land we are offering you a 5% discount on all standard packages and 10% on air conditioned packages at the G-Land Surf Camp. And from all report’s I’ve heard of late, right now is an ideal time to get over there and score some un-crowded waves
We are also now sending out brief random surf reports and ravings through Twitter mobile phone service so sign up today !
Thnaks for dropping by and get ready for some solid swell hitting Bali starting tomorrow afternoon.
Best Regards from the island of the Gods and we hope to see you over here real soon !
