****MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
Hi crew and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves this morning for the run down on todays surfing and weather conditions here on the holiday island of Bali. Todays photos are courtesy from our good friends down at Uluwatu, Hendra Surf Photography. You’ll also find photo No.15 of one of my old friends taking on a monster at Uluwatu’s / Outside Corner last swell.
Well this morning started off with a bang, in the way of a solid little Earth tremor that gave us a wake up call around 7.00AM. I also had an sms from my friend Lewis who is over in G-Land and it was also felt over there in East Java.
This mornings surf check on the Outer Reefs wasn’t looking too bad with a nice little improvement in size between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Nothing to write home about but all the same Kuta Reef had some chest high waves wrapping nicely along the reef. At the time there was already around a dozen surfers all over it. Middle Reef was bigger again in the chest to head high plus class, Middle’s will be the best bet as the tide starts to run out after lunch. Airport Left also had a few waves but smaller again than Kuta Reef. And I’m sure that Uluwatu would also have a few on the Main Peak in the head to well over head sector.
Surfing conditions are perfect with the wind coming lightly out of the East @ 2-5knot. We should feel the Tradewind kick in anytime in the next hour or so and swing more to the ESE-SE and increase in strength.
Tidal info for today is calling for a 2.2mtr High @ 10.30AM and then running out for a 0.3mtr Low around 4.30PM.
Weather wise here in Tuban we are off to a cloudy start this morning but you could pretty much bet that when the Tradewind kicks in it’ll clear away for another hot and sunny day.
Swell forecast; According to the forecasters we should see wave height continue to increase in size through Sunday and peaking on Monday. Tuesday has wave height slowly backing off but still holding something for us through Wednesday. Thursday and it’s just about over. But then if everything holds together we should see another big system moving in on Friday afternoon with the charts currently showing a 20ft peak for Saturday. But we will have to wait and watch what happens. Anyway it’s looking good for waves at least through till next Wednesday.
Sms surf report from the G-land Surf Camp was saying that wave height is a solid 4ft hitting Kongs and Money Tree’s. Looking good for when the off-shore wind kicks in. NB: numbers are way down on usual over at G-Land at the moment so now is a perfect time to take advantage of the discounts we are offering. So drop me an email and cash in on it.
If it’s clean safe and friendly accommodation here in Tuban only 300mtrs back from the Outer Reefs, including A/C, hot water, refridgerator & TV for US$15.00 per night (single) or US$18.00 for a couple and US$25.00 twin share. Then drop me an email but usually we do need a few weeks notice.
G-Land we are offering you a 5% discount on all standard packages and 10% on air conditioned packages at the G-Land Surf Camp. And from all report’s I’ve heard of late, right now is an ideal time to get over there and score some un-crowded waves
We are also now sending out brief random surf reports and ravings through Twitter mobile phone service so sign up today !
Ok crew, we hope ya’s have a good weekend, even if your not here in Bali. We’ll be heading out to get ya’s some more photos and info again tomorrow so drop by if ya get a chance.
Best Regards from Bali
