****MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
Howdy crew and welcome aboard the baliwaves.com for todays look at surfing and weather conditions here on your favourite surfing holiday destination of Bali. And finally we started to see some better waves yesterday so here’s a bit of a bo peep of what it was like down at Uluwatu yesterday courtesy of our good friends at Hendra Surf Photography.
Yesterday morning wave height on the Outer Reefs was still only showing in the 1-2ft range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left, but by late afternoon had improved to 2-3ft. Not quite what the swell forecasters had predicted but at least something to ride. This mornings surf check was still only showing waves in the waist to head high plus sector. With the tide on the way in Kuta Reef and Airport Left both had some fun sized waist to head high waves.
Surfing conditions were clean and glassy with the wind coming lightly out of the North @ 1-3knot. Thats been the norm for the last few days with the ESE off-shore Tradewind kicking in around 10.00 – 11.00AM.
Tidal info for today is calling for a 2.3mtr High @ 11.00AM and then running out for a reef exposing 0.1mtr Low around the 5.00PM mark.
Looking for a wave today, we’ll I bet locations like Canggu and Balian are popular, with the wind coming out of the North these two spots have clean off-shore wind. When the ESE off-shore Tradewind kicks in then you’ll find the best surfing conditions from Kuta Reef down to Uluwatu on the far Southern end of the island.
Weather wise out there this morning we have a partly sunny and partly cloudy start to the day and heading for a top temperature of around 30 degree’s Celsius.
Yesterday’s sms surf report from the G-land Surf Camp was calling wave height to be in the head to head high plus class with some nice waves breaking on Kongs and the top end of Money Tree’s.
If it’s clean safe and friendly accommodation here in Tuban only 300mtrs back from the Outer Reefs, including A/C, hot water, refridgerator & TV for US$15.00 per night (single) or US$18.00 for a couple and US$25.00 twin share. Then drop me an email but usually we do need a few weeks notice.
G-Land we are offering you a 5% discount on all standard packages and 10% on air conditioned packages at the G-Land Surf Camp. And from all report’s I’ve heard of late, right now is an ideal time to get over there and score some un-crowded waves
We are also now sending out brief random surf reports and ravings through Twitter mobile phone service so sign up today !
Ok folks I’ll be heading back down the beach for another check shortly and if there has been any significant changes I’ll let you know with an afternoon up-date, or through the Twitter mobile phone service for those already signed up to “baliwaves”
Best Regards from Bali
