****MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
Good morning to all you surfers tuning into the baliwaves.com for todays news on surfing and weather conditions here on your favourite surfing holiday destination of Bali. Todays photos are once again courtesy from our friends at Uluwatu, Hendra Surf Photography.
Just before I give ya’s the run down I’d like to welcome Oakley on board the baliwaves, so make sure you check out their website and take a look at how the Oakley Pro Jr has been going at Keramas.
Todays 7.00AM surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban wasn’t looking to bad at all. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left is still holding in the 3-4ft+ range or head to almost double head high. There was still enough tide left at the time for Kuta Reef to be peeling off waves in the chest to head high plus sector. And as usual there were at least 20 surfers on it already. Middle Reef was attracting more size and I did see one batch of sets break in the double head high range. Middle’s will only improve as the tide continue’s to run out. Airport Left also had a few waves in the waist to head high sector for the early risers. I’m sure you’d also be able to find some nice waves down at Balangan and Uluwatu this morning.
Surfing conditions on the Outer Reefs were clean and tidy with the ESE-SE Tradewind kicking in early. Off-shore wind between Kuta and Uluwatu up to 10-12knot.
Tidal info for today has a 0.8mtr Low @ 11.30AM and then only just running back in for a 1.5mtr High around 6.00PM
Weather wise we’re off to another overcast start this morning but I don’t think there will be any rain falling. More than likely we’ll be back to blue sky by midday if the Tradewind keeps blowing. Heading for a top temperature of around 30 degree’s Celsius along the beach.
Swell Forecast; Ok so we’ve got plenty of waves for today Sunday. Monday and things shouldn’t change too much before another new swell rides in over the old on Tuesday. More surf through Wednesday before it starts to fade on Thursday. Hopefully there’s something a little bit further out, but…
Sms surf report from the G-Land Surf Camp was calling wave height to be holding in the double to double head high plus range this morning. Clean off-shore wind on Kongs and Moneytree’s but no surfers in the water at 7.15AM.
Bruce Hansel, I only just heard the news that Bruce has just under gone some heart surgery from an attack he suffered earlier in the week here in Bali. Bruce is ok but he is struggling to pay for the operation and therapy. So if you know Bruce from down at Uluwatu and can offer any help, please do.
If it’s clean safe and friendly accommodation here in Tuban only 300mtrs back from the Outer Reefs, including A/C, hot water, refridgerator & TV for US$15.00 (Rp150,000) per night (single) or US$18.00 (Rp180,000) for a couple and US$25.00 (Rp250,000) twin share. Then drop me an email but usually we do need a few weeks notice.
G-Land we are offering you a 5% discount on all standard packages and 10% on air conditioned packages at the G-Land Surf Camp. And from all report’s I’ve heard of late, right now is an ideal time to get over there and score some un-crowded waves
We are also now sending out brief random surf reports and ravings through Twitter mobile phone service so sign up today !
Thanks again for tuning into the original Bali surf report (since ’99) and stay tuned because there’s still plenty more a coming.
Best Regards from Bali
Slim
