****MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
Hello surfers and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves.com for todays news on surfing and weather conditions here on the happy little holiday island of Bali.
Ok so yesterday I was AWOL, dragging some lures behing my little reef boat (Wahoo 1 from 4 strikes, Tuna 2 from 2, GT 1 from 1). I did get a look at every location from Kuta Reef down to Uluwatu, and it wasn’t looking real good anywhere. Uluwatu had the best size at 2-3ft with the very occassional bigger set wave, and not much breaking elsewhere. Yesterdays wind direction was pretty much coming outta the S-SW so the East Coast would not have been much better.
The first thing I noticed on my way down for the surf check this morning was that the wind was coming back out of the ESE-SE and off-shore again. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport left was still only showing in the 1-2ft+ range. Kuta Reef was a perfect looking waist high with at least 10 surfers on it. Middle Reef had a few at waist to head high and I’d have to say Airport left was looking the best with wave height in the waist to head high class.
Surfing conditions were perfect with the off-shore ESE-SE Tradewind gusting up to 12knot+
Tidal info for today is saying we had a 1.9mtr High @ 8.30AM and then she’ll be running back out for a 0.6mtr Low around 3.00PM
Weather wise we had a wet start to the day and even now at 1.20PM the sky is still looking dull and overcast. Today top temperature is going to be maxing out around the 27 degree Celsius mark.
Sms surf report from the good guys over at the G-Land Surf Camp was saying that wave height is hitting Kongs and Money Tree’s in the head to well over head sector with clean off-shore wind. Only 4 surfers in the water on MT’s at the time of this report.
Hopefully sometime in the next 24hrs +/- we’ll see a new swell showing on the reefs and with the return of the off-shore wind there should be plenty of waves for everyone still here in Bali.
If it’s clean safe and friendly accommodation here in Tuban only 300mtrs back from the Outer Reefs, including A/C, hot water, refridgerator & TV for US$15.00 (Rp150,000) per night (single) or US$18.00 (Rp180,000) for a couple and US$25.00 (Rp250,000) twin share. Then drop me an email but usually we do need a few weeks notice.
G-Land we are offering you a 5% discount on all standard packages and 10% on air conditioned packages at the G-Land Surf Camp. And from all report’s I’ve heard of late, right now is an ideal time to get over there and score some un-crowded waves
We are also now sending out brief random surf reports and ravings through Twitter mobile phone service so sign up today !
Ok folks thanks again for stopping by
